To be fair, it's HQ's dream. In seems like her had the wrong impression of ZXW because in her dream he sort of gave up on her due to his responsibility as lord. She didn't know how deep his love for her in reality and that she is everything to him. Good thing she realized it and choose to wake up.
The last episode is better than I expected, granted we can use a longer ending.
Due to her life's tragedy and trauma of losing her family, HQ fell into a deep coma reliving and undoing her mistakes. The dream made it possible for her to heal. She created HRZ who would always protect and stand by her no matter what. It was revealed that HRZ is really herself. She needed to forgive herself so self love is very important here. It's her way of coping. You can see that she got stronger and stronger as HRZ. In a way, I feel HRZ is also part of Zhong Xi Wu who comforted, took care and stood by her in reality. She grew strong enough due to his nurturing and love. Glad that she was willing to accept her reality rather than to continue to live in the dream world. Wow, I really love the real ZXW for his patience and unconditional love for HQ and the fact that he stood strong and level headed against his mother. He was giving his all and was willing to lose everything to have a chance to be with her. Overall, it was a great watch. Zhou Ye and Wang Xing Yue have a really great chemistry. Both did an amazing job on their respective roles. They definitely have great potential. I first took notice of Zhou Ye in Word of Honor and then Back From The Brink. As for Wang Xing Yue, I first saw him in One and Only, then Delicacies Destiny. I think this drama conveyed some good messages that actions have consequences. I like that they didn't sugar coat misdeeds. People got punished one way or another like HQ and her family. As long as you reflect and repent on your mistakes, everyone deserves a second chance. HQ was shown to be kind and not inherently evil. Both HQ and ZXW embraced their second chance, face life together side by side.
HQ found the peaceful life that she always wanted. Her parents are safe too. HRZ can stay by her side and offer protection and companionship. I see them only as family. I'm totally heartbroken for Zhong Xi Wu though. I really love his character development here. He finally understood that love is not about possession and what selfless love means. He finally accepted that he can't be with her but paved the way to make sure that she's safe and happy. I'm glad at least he knows that she has feelings for him as well. I feel this would be a somewhat satisfying ending for this drama. Let's see how the last episode will play out.
I've already written as much as an answer to a post further down but I need to vent off more. HQ is quite hypocritical.…
True yes. That's why I don't rant on the leads because I feel they both have valid reasons for their choices. I find that some fans are either too critical of HQ or ZXW and other characters too.
