There are so many dramas out there with sad or incomplete endings. Why is everyone picking on BAYM?? At least this time, we got a happy ending that helped us heal from the heartbreak of Moon Lovers. Honestly I believe this drama had the potential to be one of the best K-dramas in history if it had just given us more clarity and explanations, instead of leaving so much to interpretation and fan theories. We are not just satisfied because the leads are attractive. We are satisfied because we finally got a happy, fulfilling ending, and sometimes that’s exactly what we need.
No one talks about the part where Ji Young re-reads the phrase "my Beloved, if you were to read this..." just to try & go back to the past and see his majesty? It's so funny.
I haven't watch BAYM yet but is the new drama as good as Mr Queen?
Hahaha yes its good. It just ended today. I would say Mr. Queen is more funnier but BAYM is more realistic, foodie, etc... I like both so I can't decide hahaha. I like both equally :)
I'm surprised to see how Queen or whatever she is (prince jinmyeong mother) is behaving infront of His majesty!…
Her son's condition is so serious that it’s likely fear and frustration caused her to lose her manners. So far, she hasn’t shown any signs of plotting anything malicious against the king. This is all part of Prince Jesan's plan. While the king holds the title of king, the king is also her stepson, and she's the mother of a prince. Whether biological or stepmother, she still sees him as her stepson. However, because the king chooses to respond without killing or acting like a tyrant (with Ji Yeong's words), she will gradually begin to trust the king. She made the mistake of blaming the king and the royal chief without any real evidence, but she’ll soon realize that it was her fault for jumping to a conclusion. As for Prince Jesan (the king's uncle), no one suspects him of crimes yet. Everyone trusts him, unaware that he’s hiding his true nature behind his foolish and two-faced.
How come the king’s (crown prince Yi San) queen never revealed? The ending is a bit rushed. The beginning was good. Anyways I like this drama. It’s like a reality.
For people who think Yoona is being rude, she is not. Just look at her character! She treated everyone equally, not out of disrespect but because she came from the modern world. Some people question why a so-called tyrant king is so forgiving when she seems rude. The truth is, she is not rude; she is being sincere, honest, open, and not two-faced. I think this is the reason why the king seems so interested in her and defends her against his gramma & consort kang.
It’s not about who’s prettier or better in the acting industry. Yoona and Shin Hye Sun are both amazing in their own ways. Please don’t compare them.
Shin Hye Sun’s acting is incredible. In Mr. Queen, she nailed that role! She acting like a man stuck in a woman’s body, and still being so funny and lovable. She really pulled it off.
Yoona’s style is totally different, but she’s also doing great. I loved how she played a modern girl thrown into the past, she treated everyone equally, just being herself, because she didn’t really know where she was. She brought that role to life in such a real way.
Great plot but very mysterious. Do both of them adopt the child or both of them had a child together? Only watching because I like how they are coming from poor families but still fighting for each other. Also, the ML’s showed many emotions, more than other of his dramas.
Omg is it ?? I hate things like these on dramas so what happens after that pls spoil for me so I can decide whether…
Yeah, sleeping with his lover’s sister is definitely gross, but it happens before he’s married to the FL. The ML actually regrets it a lot, and it kind of becomes a lesson in his growth. His whole motto is that, no matter what happened, his heart only belongs to the FL. And trust me, I get you—I almost dropped the drama at that part too. 😅 If you want to try other dramas, I’d recommend Game Saneha or Khluen Chiwit. I’m also pretty new to lakorns myself, and sometimes the constant yelling between women gives me a headache 😂 but I really enjoyed those two, along with this one.
can someone tell me about the romance in this drama? is it good?
As far as I can tell, there isn't much romance just yet. But it’s clear the king is starting to take an interest in Ji Young. He gets visibly upset whenever that Kang girl bullies her, and he always seems calm and at ease when Ji young (FL) is around. It’s like he instinctively trusts her because she has no bad intentions. You can tell she brings him a sense of peace — even if nothing romantic has happened yet, the connection is definitely there.
wait didn't they already do a drama like this called mr queen?
The only real similarity I see between Mr. Queen and this drama is that both main characters are chefs from the future. But Mr. Queen is more about a puppet king and how the queen (who’s actually a guy from the future stuck in her body) helps him fight back against her own powerful family. He’s not even an official chef in the palace, that’s just something he does on the side.
Honestly, the plots are totally different. I would say watch both and see for yourself. Mr. Queen is hilarious and one of my all-time favorite dramas, but this new one has its own unique vibe too.
If you are paying attention, Bunny has had feelings for Jae Yeol from the start. Ji won was never her romantic…
I know Bunny had feelings for Jae Yoel and I am glad they end up together but if it were me, I would choose a guy who likes me, not a guy I like. 🤭 By the way, LCM new drama Bon Appetite your Majesty is soon good. I loveee his acting there. Him and yoona have very good chemistry!
