If you love romcom and you're a realist, THIS MOVIE IS NOT FOR YOU.
GOD I was Soo annoyed watching this wondering how y'all rating it high. This is a typical low standard Korean movie where the girl likes a guy but will rather die than tell him then keep on telling lies after lies after lies. You wonder if truly that's how Koreans behave but again I've seen movies where the leads can the mature. E.g(HER PRIVATE LIFE, a gentlemans dignity, the beauty inside etc)
Why would you like someone, go through efforts to look good and not for once ever mention that you like them?? Instead you lie to your parents, friends and school teachers?? I was Soo annoyed I dropped it at ep 10. It makes no sense cos I'm guessing shed eventually fall for the other guy who's been chasing her without ever giving her first love a chance. This movie is stupid. STUPID!!!!!!
I don't think I can get past ep 3. Il I've never slept during a movie before. For context, I spent the whole day and night awake just to complete "What's wrong with secretary Kim".
If there's one thing I hate about Kdrama, it's the way they ooze low self esteem when it comes to relationships. They rather tell lies upon lies or die rather than come clean or confess their feelings to someone they like. It's irritating and annoying to watch. You'd almost wonder if Koreans are actually like that.
I'll be dropping reviews as I watch every episode so stay tuned.
First of, Dong Goo's breakup with his girlfriend was the most immature and stupid scene I've ever seen. You see a woman leave you for a man clearly better than you and you're crying while telling the whole world you'll never forget her and will die single. A poor man?? That's the most stupid scene I ever watched.
So writer clearly knows what audience think about him/her. Now we have a new entry too that will mess up the new…
Lmao. Reading your review was Soo funny. I could sense the anger in your text. I'm guessing the movie was below average. I'll better avoid it then. Thanks
Alot of Cliche and Cringe worthy scenes but PARK MIN YOUNG is turning herself in the most kdrama worthy actress of recent times. She out did herself in "What's wrong with secretary Kim" and honestly topping that performance would be difficult but this was also a praise worthy performance in acting.
Personally, I feel bad for who she's dating cause the way she portrays those emotions and kiss scenes, you'd think she was truly cheating. Lmao.
Great movie. Last 2 episodes, totally unnecessary and the movie felt a bit dragged which reduces it's rating further.
ITS SOO CLICHE. ITS SUPER CRINGY. ITS FULL OF FAKENESS. Like ALOT of the scenes are impossible in real life. It's a movie, yes! but it's not sci-fi or supernatural. It's suppose to relate to possible outcomes of the everyday life. IT DOESN'T!!!.
I stopped it personally at ep 4. Couldn't tolerate the nonsense anymore.
I feel sad for the ML tho, asides "My Secret Crush" he's been unable to land elite roles. Sigh
As an African who dabbles into Kdrama occasionally, this is the most mature, engaging, interesting, funny and romantic F40s drama I've ever seen.
This is the very first time I've been soo impressed with an F40 Kdrama and I wish I can find others like this!!!
It was TOTALLY impressive!!! Like, I didn't need to fast forward at all, every second of every episode was totally engaging. I laughed alot and was really impressed with how the actors embodied their roles. Felt like the roles were tailor made for them.
THE ACTING: SOLID 9.5 From Kim Do Jim the Playboy turned lover, his pursing Seo Yi Soo was really impressive and mature. Even when she found him with another girl in his apartment, there was no unnecessary drama. Everything was handled maturely to when he was pissed at her for using the shoes he gave her in a manner that was disrespectful to him, he told her off without minding he loved her.
Te San was magnificent,
Yoon Oppa maybe had a little flaw and almost made it cliche with how he had to wait till she was at the airport leaving before he realized what he would be losing( that's the only blemish on the story for me).
The OST was wonderful, it embodied the emotions properly at relevant intervals plus they were fun to memorize. The rewatch value is a solid 9.9
Impressive Really impressive Korea I loved it and will totally recommend
Isn't that copyright infringement?? Maybe they obtained license to but still I don't appreciate the lack of originality because the Hollywood version was a huge blockbuster and I totally loved it.
Same way you would feel irritated if they tried to remake boys before flower.
This movie is BORING. The first episode has SO MANY Cliche lines that it becomes irritating. Nice story but really…
Ok, so I was able to get past the first episode and settled into it. This is one of the movies you watch in ff (fast forward). Alot of unnecessary and boring scenes. Also very unrealistic in some parts. E.g: The aunt who was supposed to be the "villian" ended ended up almost doing nothing. The FLs former manager also has some unrealistic cliche scenes that almost gets you irritated.
I think the ML is the most SELFISH BASTARD I've ever seen. Even with his condition. He should be lucky his father is rich to accommodate his illness. Alot of people seem to "relate" with the ML. But I don't. From ep. 1-9, I really hated his attitude. We can excuse your anxiety when you were little but how about now that you're grown?? He put in zero effort to communicate his feelings across and just allowed people believe what they want.
I mean, I'm putting myself in his shoes and getting anxious about being among people and looking them in the eyes but what about texting, what about coming up with a method that helps you communicate. Life is harsh and people won't just pity you because you're "shy". What if his father was poor?? What if there was no money to get a pent house?? How would he afford to be independent without communication?? Even when the FL was giving him tips on how to develop means of communication, all he did was run. But watched from far when she was talking to the SML and get angry shouting at him to leave. So you would rather she was lonely while you're far away because you can't communicate?? That's entirely stupid and not possible in this age of computers. I like how he was humiliated when asked to present. You picked a team to work with yet did the whole work and asked them to present. How is that not self centered??
I got Soo angry at the ML because if his father wasn't rich, he would be dead meat. Life isn't fair. He identified his problem early but didn't try fixing it in a way that would be acceptable to the mainstream public. That's not acceptable in general.
How can you be secretive from even the man you're hiding behind?? You ask for the girl to be fired initially,l without telling him why. He gives you good reason why he can't because it would be suspicious. Then he starts falling for her and you play the "you can't date her card because she's..." Now he has reason to fire her but you don't want him to without giving him a reason. You end up being rude to the same man who is taking blames on your behalf and forced into a marriage he clearly doesn't want.

A solid 7/10 for me. I'd recommend you watch.
THIS MOVIE IS THRASH. IF YOU'RE SOMEONE WHO APPRECIATES INTELLIGENCE AND BEAUTIFUL ACTING, PLEASE AVOID THIS MOVIE. IT'S TOTAL THRASH.
Can't believe it ended like that. In the most senseless way ever. Sigh.
