Sad in the beginning; Sad at the end

This series never veered far from its core value of sadness. It was sad at the beginning and remained so throughout and added a healthy dose of gloominess. While it had magical moments, none reached a pinnacle or reached any insights to changing behaviors. It has a masterful feel of darkness enveloping it from its subject matter to its cinematography to the depression of its characters. Even the weather is gloomy. It takes you on a mournful journey which interestingly enough you are not sure if it will be completely successful in its glumness or maybe lead to hosannas from heaven. It does neither, at least for me. It has one of the worst 'getting-back-together' scenes I have ever seen.

Soft. Gentle. But Impassionate

Sometimes something cinematic comes along that that smacks you immediately in the face as momentous. Initially, you might not want to believe that as it is not showy, splashy, or emotionally charged. Yet, it impassions you at your core. You begin to feel its power and impact on you from its inception. It seems to sense your need. These two actors have a way of drawing you in and making you a part of their story.
It is an understatement to say this is one of the BEST BLs in the year 2022.

Not Very Entertaining

In another twist of irony, admittedly the screenplay is one of the best written for a Thai BL series to come across in a long time. It had some great dialogue between characters, and life’s lessons in transitioning from childhood to adulthood is well described. But as good as some of the screenplay was, it did not translate into memorable scenes. Two reasons for that. The main actors were too monotonal and were not given proper direction in how and when to change from being themselves into other versions of being themselves. That may sound counterintuitive, but there was no drama in their acting. The two had the same flat affect from the beginning to the end and therefore our interest in them waned as time went on. Second, there was no clear focus here.

A Misunderstood BL Series

This is a deeply moving series guised to be light-hearted. But, at least for me, it was sad and very thought-provoking. I cried more than once in this series. To describe it or summarize it might make it sound fatuous. But it is far from that. Yet, I almost gave up on it in the beginning because it asks you to suspend your beliefs and move into the realm of fantasy in almost a caricature sort of fashion. It is only when you get into the story do you realize the characters are not meant to be real but allegorical in nature and representing us. A rather unique approach to BL storytelling. This easily could have slipped into a farce but did not.
The title should have been worked on a bit more. It sounds a bit too cartoonish which it is not.

THE Best So Far in 2022!

I know it may sound trite to call this a masterpiece but it is. It is the best BL so far in 2022. I named Country Boy (1) as THE best in 2021 and this is is well on its way of taking its place for this year of 2022. What makes it so special? It's simplicity! It is nothing more than a pure love story with no gimmicks. The characters are so real, genuine, honest, and so original! I want to be in their world!
The acting is first rate, story is simple and basic, but its beauty is not want is only on the screen. It's beauty is in the actors themselves. This is a labor of love that screams classic!
There are simply NOT enough adjectives to describe its beauty and the impact this short series has on me. PLEASE watch this gem and its counterpart. I think you will be moved not only to smile but to cry and perhaps just wish a tiny bit to live in their world.

I LOVED THIS SERIES!

I know, I know. Undoubtedly, I am in a minority here in just loving this series. I thought it was fun, creative, and one of a kind. Sure, the acting is flat but for me, that only enhanced this series even more. This series NEVER takes itself seriously and you should not also. It is a tongue-in-cheek fantasy. But with a twist. It is the first GAY live-action fairytale and for that it deserves our praises and kudos. It was not afraid to be gay, gay, gay. No nonsense about liking the person not the gender. They liked each other BECAUSE they were gay. If I were a kid, struggling to figure out who I was, I would have LOVED this as it represented me. I could feel that a prince might just be coming for me someday too. I know the acting is not perhaps top-notch, but it makes it up in catching songs, and an adorable story with some very poignant moments. Sure, the songs are Disney-like, but who does not like Disney. I am simply not ashamed to say that I loved this series and binged watch it, which I never do.

Satirical and Very Funny

This really is an exceptionally funny BL series that is satirical with a tongue-in-cheek approach. It pokes fun at every trope known to the BL world. It does so almost reverently and certainly honestly. I loved this series a lot and it no doubt will make you laugh out loud. This would actually be a good series for individuals who are unfamiliar with the BL world. This will explain it with humor and depth. There are also some very poignant moments in these series that got to me and I found myself moved by the message. You will know them. This is pure entertainment and one of the best for 2022.

A Hidden Gem

This is such a great series. Funny, poignant, and so real. It is filled with people who are like us. It portrays so true to form what a long-term relationship looks like and how perhaps it does finally need to be re-assessed. Maybe a new course of direction is warranted.
This is such an entertaining and fun series to watch along with its sister series, Season 1. It is obvious a shoe-string production but do not let that deter you from its thorough entertainment. I just loved this series and the first one.

An Innovative and Provocative Story of Love

The premise for this series is nothing short of innovative and provocative. It is an endearing series in its simplicity but that also causes it to falter a bit. In its defense, this is one of the strongest and best representation of what true love really is. This is a BL story worthy of distinction. The acting is simply remarkable and the portrayal of someone who has multiple personalities is brilliant and a true work of art to observe. We see glimpses of what it is like. Kudos!

A Profoundly Moving Story

An intensely human story that feels real and quite genuine. It is dark and a bit brooding but so character driven that you do not mind its plaintiveness. It is a tale of young love that is deep in its core but goes unrecognized and almost missed. It says more with less words and shows love in subtle acts of kindness. A beautiful and touching series with a significant twist to its ending that left me shattered and less hopeful. It has some fine acting even by actors that are new. They never overplay their roles.

Simple and Nice and So Fitting

These are incredibly enjoyable snippets and a fitting tribute to each of their relationships. There is an organic feel about these and a sense that they really are couples. It helps solidify their relationships in the hearts and minds of the audience and that really is a nice feeling. There is something truly enjoyable about watching each of these couples tackle situations unique to the development of their relationships. We get the sense that they will indeed be ok. And in this chaotic time, that is exactly what we need.

Surprisingly Poignant

It is packed with very good storytelling and believable human drama. Two somewhat dichotomous individuals meet by chance and get to explore and see each others qualities and flaws in a different light. This is a surprisingly well written movie with some excellent dialogue that helps move this story along fast and furious, but it still does not feel rushed. This is a good solid story. The screen chemistry between the two main actors was palpable and very good. This flows much better as a movie than the series but both are the same. It is just easier to follow in movie format. So Anticlimactic

It had a few good moments but mostly droll, drab, and kind of boring. It had a number of sensuous kissing scenes and they did seem more relaxed than the previous series, but it just does not work. (By the way, who has empty seats at a wedding?) Even my favorite couple - Champ and Doc - looked stilted and forced to be there. There is just something about this that got lost from the first series. Maybe its edge?
The wedding itself took only a few minutes and I wish it had been a bit more powerful. There is no question that these two actors are powerful and have tremendous screen chemistry but neither looked challenged in these roles. They are very good actors and so are most of the supporting cast. I missed its je ne sais quoi.

A Story of Love's Fortitude

This is a movie based upon Shun and Nagisa being older. While the movie is hopeful, it is still profoundly sad and melancholic. Societal norms still determines that this relationship is not normal. It nearly ruined their relationship forever, and permanently changed what life’s paths they both took. It is a story painful to watch and made me cry. Not so much for its sadness, but for the lost opportunities of love they could have shared with each other. But fate has determined that, it is what it is, and you live your life in the moment and become grateful for what you have. It is an incredibly moving story of love, togetherness, and fortitude.
To fully appreciate this movie, you really need to watch the series 'HIS- I DIDN'T THINK HE WOULD FALL IN LOVE WITH ME'. This will give you a perspective of who these guys are from a young age and how and why they mean so much to each other. This is a stunning combination of stories and is so human, with all its glories and foibles. You can see my full review of these two together at my (free) blog site at ppbongi.medium.com..
