It's quite complicated, they first met during fengyin's Nirvana, fengyin helped yuan qi (currently gu jin donghua's disciple) through something but he didn't see her face so he thought it was the peacock princess hua shu ,and hua shu also pretended like it was her so she can benifit from it , so he fell in love with her , and he told her that he can bring any treasure for her, hua shu was afraind after feng yin came into the world from nirvana ,feng yin will be the emperor of Phoenix, and her status will not be the same as before, so she asked yuan qi that the only treasure she wants to see is the fire Phoenix jade, so yuan qi agreed to her and went to fetch fire Phoenix jade but the fire phonix jade was weapon to store feng yin' cultivation before her nirvana, so that she can use it after her nirvana , when yuan qi came to take the fire phonix jade he accidentally broke the fire Phoenix jad the ruined feng yin's nirvana after that her soul scatered in the three relams but her one soul accidentally went to the daze mountain ( dong hua's sect ) in the body of the water condensing beast. And yuan qi was punished to stay in daze mountain until dung hua's accesion to god, after some years yuan qi met water condensing beast who was sleeping in a cave and cause she was rare he decides to raise her and named her a yin ,on the say of donghua's accession to the god relam he take a yin as a disciple of his the same generation as gu jin (yuan qi), and their journey begin to collect the souls of the fire Phoenix feng yin where the met hong yi (nine tailed fox, later the ten tailed demon emperor, a yin falls in love with yuan qi, but he was in love with hua shu , then many misunderstandings come and it leads to the ruin of daze mountain and the tragic death of a yin by the heavenly thunder bought by yuan qi's yuan shen sword which is said to be if someone dies in the hands of yuan shen sword even if it is a god their souls will be scattered and will never born again. But a whisp of a yin's soul in the form of ghost enter the cycle to reincarnation for thousands of years she forgets who she was but she remembered all her reincarnations wondering what crime did she commit to be punished by heaven like this, lat she jumps in the wang chuan for the last time and wake up as feng yin the young master of the Phoenix who is alredy a demi god without receiving the thunder tribulations, later the Castro trope came and yuan qi sacrifices hir power of chaos to seal the nine neather purgatory to stops the monsters to come outside and died.( The end).
