I mean... Scarlet Heart ryeo didn't give us a sad ending for no reason... the probability of the king also traveling…
that page that tore before she travelled back to the future was the page actually needed for the time travel as in it is the bibimbap dish that she cooked on the 1st day she went to joseon, he named that dish hwanseban meaning 'return home' or smn similar, they mentioned it a few times coz he had asked his eunuch what to name it, and on the last episode jiyeong tried to travel to the past again but couldn't becoz of the torn page which stayed with him so he travelled to the future with that.. and i saw in a comment that in the webtoon he basically travelled n found himself in the future n while crossing the street he was hit by a car of a man who turned out to be the reincarnation of his secretary song jae, he's a chaebol in the future so he helped the king get treated and then find jiyeong together which was easy coz she's a famous chef... most adaptations of novels or webtoons don't include all the details, since ppl can always go n read the original and the writers don't have to waste time on things that could just be guessed with some logic.. i also feel the ending lacks a bit but the problem isn't even the questions you asked coz those can be deduced if you pay attention to details.. the problem is how the pace and writing went throughout the whole drama and then suddenly all the backstories being rushed in the last 2 eps, which they could've done much better if it was a bit longer but it's all becoz of the global influence that made kdramas shorter n shorter, otherwise we could've gotten closure on all the stories of the characters including ji yeong coz i also read that her mother was the king's mother's court lady and smh travelled to the future and met ji yeong's father, and we could've gotten a confrontation between the king n gilgong when he finds out his truth, and another between him n his grandma, we could've gotten just a bit more into the stories of the other characters as well and then a nice wrap up in the future where we get to see his confusion and them finding each other.. ps: one comment said that his travelling scene n more of the ending scenes were actually filmed but didn't make it to the drama so maybe netflix couldn't give them more time...coz if u don't know the actor that was supposed to play this had a controversy so they had to find chaemin and he a short time to prepare and they probably had to make some changes for the schedule to finish the drama on time...
but with a story this complicated where there's a lot more to uncover and where they've been focusing on competitions…
i know it's not centered around romance , i wouldn't have watched it if it was, for me there has to be an interesting plot.. so if u read it all, you'd know i talked abt the other sub plots more than romance, but in a way i was just expressing my frustration wt the way netflix n global success has changed the length of dramas ,n how that messes wt the pace, n bcoz of ppl complaining abt a couple more eps, when i personally don't see a problem wt 16 eps if it's necessary for characters n plot development especially wt complicated ones, otherwise it feels like a movie if there's not enough time for each important plot n we're left wt questions at the end..so i js ranted, nothing is directed at u or smn and like you said i always js wait for it all to unfold n then judge, i trust the directors must know what they're doing if it's going a certain direction and i'm one to usually get mad at ppl who want to get ahead of the plot..
Am just going to say one thing about life is that we all humans can't get satisfied because if this had more romance…
but with a story this complicated where there's a lot more to uncover and where they've been focusing on competitions 16 eps are fine: the romance still haven't gotten there, like when are they gonna understand their love for eo and will ji young accept that he has a consort or is the consort getting out of the way first and then they'll confess and then we won't get to see them becoming lovers like maybe barely for some moments by the end, like if they were going to not focus on romance they shouldn't have made it this much of a slow burn, it's still so good but not much time is left for the most important parts , and when is the king gonna discover the truth behind his mom's death , n the traitors who are plotting behind his back hence the involvement of the grandma the prince the other subjects n the consort , he's not even close to suspecting them, and then he's gonna go after them one by one and feel betrayed and take time to accept it..etc , then we have gil gong and his sister's story and we'll get to know if he's the king's ally who's acting as a double spy for both sides or if he's a traitor, same goes for song jae the secretary which ji young kept calling treacherous which i believe she said becoz he betrayed the king in the original history, then we got all the time travelling thing why was ji young sent to the past and will she help the king in all of this, is she gonna change parts of history is she gonna face consequences after, when will the king finish writing the book, then is he gonna be killed and then which one of the 100 theories for the ending is it gonna be, like most of them take time, so many sub plots and steps, character developments..etc , like when are they gonna do all that and the competition is still on the next episode,... i've never had a problem wt 16 eps dramas as long as it's good n it makes sense, it's just the new generation of audience that started kdramas on netflix want them like other western series when both have very different paces n very different plots and writing styles ,especially wt the romance aspect, kdramas are mostly slow burn with the sub plots going accordingly regardless of if romance is the main focus or not ,whereas western series are faster on that aspect especially if romance is not the focus, but they usually have more than one season, so idk why ppl expect the same from kdramas when they've always been just one season except the few netflix original dramas from the past few years... so unless this drama has a 2nd season upcoming then as an expert on kdramas who's been watching since 2011 ,this is gonna be disastreous even if it's really well made and wrapped up in the end, it's not gonna be satisfying, atleast for me..
**Prediction…**Joseon will lose the second round but ultimately win the final with honor. The inventor will…
it's not only unfair becoz the 2 nations despise each other, coz if it was just that it would be a tie if each side vote for their dish ,but on joseon's side we have ministers who don't want her to win so no matter which dish is better, ji young's team is at a disadvantage either ways...which is so frustrating, idk how many times i've cursed at the grand prince that gae sekki today, i'm just cursing at him nonstop everytime he's on the screen..
It's about time for this to get a chinese remake! It would make such a great Xanxia. It took me years to figure…
fr same i've always loved it and it's so nostalgic for me as i watched it like 10+ yrs ago n my 1st introduction into the genre and i've always wondered how it would be wt today's production quality and a chinese xianxia at that like yes please.... And this was actually supposed to be so much better effects ,sets and production wise but they lost a lot of budget becoz the ml actor was changed for some issues so they lost alot to compensate him after he only filmed the trailer and then had to reshoot after casting lee minho as the lead but unfortunately wt a much lower budget ,u can see the trailer links posted by unbeliebubble if u scroll down,, but honestly i don't think i would've liked it if the lead wasn't minho hahah, i don't like the other guy's acting in other dramas nor his chemistry wt the fl, lee min ho on the other hand portrayed the general's character really well he showed all the different emotions of a fighter that started really young n has alot of experience n wisdom which made him look fed up wt life at that young age the way he looked calm n strong but also weak and always ready against enemies but also smart not just physically strong ,he played it so well that it made me curious abt the actual general in real life that i looked him up and i also liked the fl the way she portrayed a normal weak person who got dragged into another world but actually has so much strengths n skills and becomes braver n wiser wt time n how her story as the great doctor came full circle at the end ,plus their chemistry was top notch despite the age gap ,, so if they remake it in china i hope they find suitable actors who have depth so they could capture the elements i mentioned b4 and the depth of the stories of the characters and not ones who act for the sake of acting ... This drama is also one of the rare dramas abt goryeo dynasty which comes right b4 joseon dynasty which was really interesting to learn abt the past events b4 goryeo falls, so i wonder which chinese era they could choose as it's really important for the king's story ; how he was weak (bt willing to improve) and the general was kinda like his mentor n guide bt also friend which btw all the relationships btween the characters in this drama were great n warm so that's another element i hope they capture.. sorry for blabbering so much ,i just got excited writing how i wish it to be if it's remade in china, as if you'll be the one to produce it 😅😂
bro r u drunk, what u mean all!! miyeon and geonhee are 27 , dongwon is 17 , 2 are in their early 30s and the…
all 6 of them are hosts and by city z they probably meant the concept of the younger gen or youthful ppl hanging out living in the countryside where usually it's mostly elderly ppl and the guests are young too so..

bro r u drunk, what u mean all!! miyeon and geonhee are 27 , dongwon is 17 , 2 are in their early 30s and the only one pushing 40 is sechan.. that means 3 are gen z, can't u math?
y'all won't believe this, i just finished LGIEF 5-6 days ago and started watching this and coincidentally i reached the new year's holiday episode on dec 31st in the morning , got busy during the day and came back to watch the rest b4 midnight and i swear i got to the rooftop scene where they were watching the fireworks right on the 00:00 mark hahahaha 😆
It's not even an open ending It's a cliffhanger.. an open ending is when everything has been uncovered about the plot and they just leave us guessing if the main characters will choose to be together or not after having normal couple issues OR when the audience can already guess what's gonna happen to the characters and the story because it's obvious at that point...but in this one, there's a lot more to the story; they showed wufeng in the dark after we waited the whole season to know who he is so we still have to know that and the gong family has to get rid of him/her and at the last few minutes they show weishan seeing her twin for the first time in her life but there's wufeng waiting for her in the room so we don't know if he's gonna hurt her or he might be related to her smh or to her family coz i'm telling you weishan isn't just a chi for wufeng...and then there's someone opening the gate where gong ziyu was waiting for weishan at the end...besides shangguan being pregnant with shangjue's child so he can't just live the rest of his life like nothing ever happened...so there has to be a season 2 unless it's true what some are saying in the comments about the director being banned..
Famous Professionals in korea really have their own fandom, even bigger and more respected than idols and actress,…
I'm really glad you brought this up becoz , satire is used a lot in kdramas especially sometimes even in unexpected genres like horror ,tragedy, crime...etc and people don't get it a lot of the times especially those who are new to the kdrama scene and becoz they don't get this type of humor ,they often choose to hate on the show or criticize it without even trying or thinking that maybe only they didn't understand it becoz of the cultural difference which can be annoying sometimes becoz if you get to understand it well ,It is really genius and not only satire ,the way they use metaphors and they insert little clues here and there who add up to the moral of the story but people don't see it often times and only focus on the shallow stuff sometimes drives me crazy..I mean i just learned the term satire from you i just knew that there was this type of humor they use in kdramas and i knew it becoz whenever i watch anything the smallest most unnecesary scenes , i always have this mindset that there must be a reason why they put that there or why they exagerated this , there's no way they would put something so clearly absurd or ridiculous looking and obvious to whoever looks at it without having a meaning behind it and it doesn't really take much effort to see it... but i think it just happens becoz when humans go into something new and they look at it from an intense critical eye they become blind about a lot of things especially when they expect similar things to what they're used to...so yeah just thank you for mentioning that..
WTH!!!! , why is everyone fighting in the comments, the focus/plot of this show isn't even about lgbtq community or drag queens .., it's about a girl trying to find her sister who disappeared becoz of her drugdealer boss and a cop (ml) , trying to catch the culprit , it will have a pinch of character development for the ml for his phobia of trans women which is understandable for his case considering what his trans sister did when he was just a kid which made him question his identity which she had no right to do but we can't blame her much coz she was probably young , but asides from that this show isn't lgbtq+ focused , it has some side characters who are trans, kathoey ....etc considering the female lead's sister is a drag queen. but why is everyone mad that the fl is cis ..If you don't like the plot then you obviously don't have to watch it, there are plenty of other shows you can watch of that genre ,you can't just hate on it becoz you don't like that the fl isn't trans or becoz it wasn't what you expected from the trailer ...and it isn't a culturally bound show like some are saying ,the main character isn't from the community and that's not the main focus ,it is a light hearted comedy with a bit of romance, action, mystery and police investigation , so far i don't see anything that could offend someone from the community but if there is ,that person can speak up about it to the channel others don't have to be offended in their stead, especially those who didn't even watch the show...
and i saw in a comment that in the webtoon he basically travelled n found himself in the future n while crossing the street he was hit by a car of a man who turned out to be the reincarnation of his secretary song jae, he's a chaebol in the future so he helped the king get treated and then find jiyeong together which was easy coz she's a famous chef... most adaptations of novels or webtoons don't include all the details, since ppl can always go n read the original and the writers don't have to waste time on things that could just be guessed with some logic..
i also feel the ending lacks a bit but the problem isn't even the questions you asked coz those can be deduced if you pay attention to details.. the problem is how the pace and writing went throughout the whole drama and then suddenly all the backstories being rushed in the last 2 eps, which they could've done much better if it was a bit longer but it's all becoz of the global influence that made kdramas shorter n shorter, otherwise we could've gotten closure on all the stories of the characters including ji yeong coz i also read that her mother was the king's mother's court lady and smh travelled to the future and met ji yeong's father, and we could've gotten a confrontation between the king n gilgong when he finds out his truth, and another between him n his grandma, we could've gotten just a bit more into the stories of the other characters as well and then a nice wrap up in the future where we get to see his confusion and them finding each other..
ps: one comment said that his travelling scene n more of the ending scenes were actually filmed but didn't make it to the drama so maybe netflix couldn't give them more time...coz if u don't know the actor that was supposed to play this had a controversy so they had to find chaemin and he a short time to prepare and they probably had to make some changes for the schedule to finish the drama on time...
