You're not alone. But if you watch something like Hanzawa Naoki before, this one is still a level below.

Many of "highly anticipated" show got badly rated by the audience. I think that the main issue is their execution in "the final third", it started off really promising but it have a lackluster final arc. Viewer's high expectation also play a part in the process.

But I agree with @Menonama that we should watch what we think is enjoyable.

Since the pandemic, home/digital release is quiet fast. I guess in 5-6 month, it could be faster if state of emergency happens (I hope it didn't happen) or they formed a partnership with an OTT.

Agreed, and the Senior high set-up making it even more realistic.

I don't see the reason to kill Maki, since he and Uchi didn't have their identity known by Oyama. Kirishima only mention that one of Avalanche member is an amateur but somehow skillful hacker. Rina, on the other hand, already have her death flag at the end of part one. Also Oyama seems to keep an eye on her more than anyone else (except Yamamori, he already suspected her since day 1).

I think that they will wrap it up with a movie, there's a lot to unpack and i don't think 3 episodes will be enough to do that.

It seems that Kirishima have his own agenda or he is actually a double agent. Toyama may be the key character in the final 2 episode.
