TBH if you continue to watch the drama, there's no man to man kind of relationship in it. It's more to friendship there. I watched and only after I finished I found out that the original novel is BL. I watched because of the story and acting, especially Xiao Zhan great acting.

Oh I am not alone!!! Watched this cause the high rating and extremely good ratings. Eventually I don't have the patience to watch this drama at all. Dropped early, cause every time I watch this I force myself to continue watching, and finally I totally give up. I saw the ending though (enough and as predicted) LOL
