I’m so confused by it too. It seems the scholar that talked to him in the cell was the baby that Big Hyungnim always had with him. And that captive lady took in as her own. So he’s obviously all grown up and in his early 20s! That would mean GC and RE would be in their 40s and JH would be in his 50s. Like serious?! That much time has passed? I want to scream!
But it doesn’t make a lick of sense. Cuz the old man that found JH on the beach looks exactly the same when GC talked to him 20yrs later. Whoever edited this episode needs to have their head checked. Who the heck approved this crap?

But I think he truly fell in love with her when they were at the 60th anniversary party and she told him she wished to find a man to grow old with. And to live a quiet life she dipped her feet in the stream during Summer and drank her Autumn wine in the Winter.

When and why do you think JH fell in love with GC? She was so immature, snobby and bad tempered. But somehow, he fell for her, hard and fast.

He was possibly scheming how to use the Qing princess to his own benefit. Which he did end up doing eventually. She kept the captives safe while he left.

The Red Sleeve is a good one. It has the same swoon level of LOVE that the ML had for the FL. Based on actual events in history too.

Cuz remember, that old man saved JH and hid him and that old man was still alive! Lol

I think RE’s hair turning silver was from mental health instead of old age. But yeah, they were not clear at all with the timeline.

How old do you think the main characters are at the beginning? And then later at the end?

I think GF was 15-16yo and JH was 25-27.

It’s still good. Just a bit messy and rushed. I liked part 1 better.
