I am a fan of Marcus Sim's channel also 😂. Actually it is not a time travel . It is just that Zhang Wansen is living in different dimension of the world. When Lin Bei Xin travels for the first time her only intentions is to live her 18 without worries but thing changes when she receives a messages that there is someone who goes suicide in light house and the messages was silent anonymous at exactly 6 pm. Everytime she receives that message she goes back in the present.
The second time she goes back , she meet the person named Zhang Wansen whom she discover that that person love and protect her silently while her ends up chasing the wrong guy. Upon knowing the truth , she exchanged the favour and protect him at all costs.

I watched Hu Yi Tian's other drama— Youth Should Be Early (47 eps but so much draggy) and Unrequited Love (Cnetz has praised him on his improve acting which I kinda like but the Romance and ending was rushed ) ... Since you mentioned his other dramas with good reviews I might checked it out soon after the exams.
I heard that also from a friend of mine that Cheng Xiao's part has edited out so that's the main reason why it took too much of waiting.
I haven't checked any Xu Kai' s drama aside from FIYS to be honest so might pick out AMA once again. And also the rating of AMA is quite impressive 8.5 .
Fall in love is the first Republican drama I watched so far and I can say that the chemistry, acting , cinematography and casts are amazing . Although the romance is in slow paced but during 20+ episodes the drama gets better and of course a happy ending with 8.4 ratings.

Btw, I also want to recommend you one Chinese drama which became my 2022 favourite and highly recommend. "Shinning For One Thing" with Karlina Zhang and Shaw Qu . This drama is a surprise hit with 3 consecutive weeks staying #1 on weibo.

Hello, the sharpshooter ... I can't say much about draggy but there are some unnecessary scenes that should not be put . The evil plotting is also in there but is not quite convincing for me. The only thing why I still watching this drama because I waited it for more than a year and the casts are amazing.
Yes, I watched the trailer of Wu Ming . The black and white background is very refreshing. The character he is protraying is suitable for him...And I am waiting for his drama Being A Hero with Chen Xiao.
Oh I watched Arsenal also ...I don't know why I dropped it during 4 eps. Maybe because during that time, Republican Era drama is not my cup of tea. Not until recently finishing Fall in love with Chen Xing Xu.... I might pick up Arsenal once again.

For he is forever our Jiang Chen. And currently watching his on going series Hello, the sharpshooter with Xing Fei, although the script is a bit awkward but their chemistry is undeniably beautiful.
°•Song Wei Long (7)— it's been so long since I last saw his drama . As far as I can remember the last time I watched his drama was on 'Find Yourself' with Song Qian and they were dubbed as another song-song couple with a 9 age gap. Same goes with Seven Tan on Go Ahead. He was born on 1999 but always paired up with older women which is also convincing for he portrays really well.
°•Simon Gong(6) — I started to know him during 'Love Equation ' days and fell in love with his portrayal as forensic major with Reyi. And his chemistry with Zhou YuTong in Begin Again. Even though I heard some good stuffs in Word of Honor , still haven't checked it yet. The last drama I watched whom he starred in was Dream Garden with Qiao Xin but it didn't satisfy my hunger. I am not into historical but definitely checked Legend of Able with Dilraba.
°• Xu Kai — I've just fell in love with him during FITYS with Cheng Xiao . For me will be forever as my captain Cheng he in my heart. Looking forward for his drama She and her perfect husband with Yang Mi ♥️.
°• Yang Yang — he is the first Chinese actor that I fell in love with 😂😂. I watched Love 020 way back 2018 with no so much expectations but was surprised for too much potential.
