I missed Kim Tae Ri and Nam Joo Hyuk on my screen 😍 this was a really good first episode. Out of all the February releases, this is the one I was most excited for!
I just expected too much I think. The drama isn’t bad, it’s actually really good but I just wanted more and that’s my own fault.
I wanted, two things really:
1. Boss Yong, the female drug dealer, to be the main villain. She seemed more interesting and it would’ve been fun and a lot more entertaining to see a female villain. (Crossing fingers for season 2)
2. A more in-depth look into K. Around episode 7/8 I guessed K was a real person from Suyeol’s life who he looked up to, who was also all the personality of Suyeol’s K and Suyeol kind of used/thought about him when he needed to be brave or have courage. I think that’s why I didn’t feel sentimental when he was saying bye to K. K was him so he’ll always be with him. If K was this literal person that also said bye to Suyeol in real life it would’ve been a little more gut wrenching. Or maybe have a serious conversation about spilt personalities and how Suyeol’s job, as an officer, triggered K again because of the violence and all.
Like I said, still really enjoyed the drama though. The bromances were really fun.

I really did keep giving him the benefit of the doubt (juhwi). I kept saying he should have a little more trust in minyoung but then it was revealed that minyoung had dinner with another guy and didn’t tell juhwi… fine I can understand his trust issues and wanting to keep her close (to a degree). My breaking point though was when he was drunk and he went to minyoungs room and through the stuffed animal that jungkwon gave minyoung on the floor. There is no reason to be that rude. And then ep11 just sent me in a frenzy.

Two ex couples I’ll never get mad at are Min-jae and Co-co, and Ho-min and Bo-hyun.
Minjae and Coco because they’ve been broken up for a while and have this friendship and mature way of going about their past relationship.
Homin and Bohyun… I really don’t mind if they got back together. 3.5 years of dating and a 3 month breakup and then coming on the show seems like it could be really confusing and have you doing a lot of emotional gymnastics. I don’t know… I wouldn’t blame them or hate them if they got back together. Their situation just seems very sad and very fresh and you can see they had a lot of love for each other.

I just finished ep11 and I just want to express how frustrating Ju-hwi and Min-young are. I don’t know them, I don’t know how they operate on a day-to-day basis without the cameras… and they may actually be perfect for each other I really don’t know. But with what is presented to me on this show, they are exhausting and a little manipulative.
And I really do try to give them the benefit of the doubt right. You like who you like and you’re your own person with your own feelings, fine! But let’s not be hypocrites and pouty because the girl you like went on a date and drank - which is something you also did.
The commentators are better people then me because I would’ve cussed Ju-hwi and Min-young out a while ago.
Sometimes the “rules” of how K and the Su Yeol operate confuse me. Like the whole fight in episode 5… what was going on? But any way I digress because I’m enjoying the drama.
Quick theory: I think K is an actual person our ML was close with and a person he looked up to when he was younger. Like the traits K has of thinking of himself as a superhero and him being all about justice could’ve been traits of the person Su Yeol looked up to. But then something traumatic happened to both of them and Su Yeol uses K as a coping mechanism/clutch.
In an alternative universe Choi Woong and NJ would be so cute together. I wish they could have a chance to sincerely…
And sometimes I really do wish kdramas did this (there might be one that does and I just haven’t come across it).
It would be so refreshing to watch a story where our main leads were together but they end up going their separate ways amicably, like La La Land, or they end up with the second main leads.
This is honestly just my observation and what I picked up from watching ep7… it seems as if Ung did more growing, as a person, after their break up and as we watch the show we are witnessing Yeon-su’s growth. And I may just be pointing out the obvious here but I think there’s going to be a big sentimental scene where Yeon-su just lets everything go and I’m so excited for it 😭
