https://x.com/sanctuary_for_f/status/1902692675960390042The above is a translation of a letter KSR's mom wrote…
That poor mother. Her nightmare will never end and hopefully the regrets she talks about in the letter won’t eat her alive.
But she can be more at ease now that KSH is getting his just dues. There’s no salvaging the career he had (internationally). The best he can hope is to keep his delusional fans in Korea and the pockets in other countries.
On a petty note: congratulations to Park Hyung-sik.
Only South korean people on Instagram are supporting him. Internationally nobody is buying this bullshit. South…
Thank you for pointing this out. His real bread and butter was international fans and endorsements. He’s currently losing those and there’s no way he gets them back.
As an international K-Drama watcher, we are done with him and can smell the bullshit lies and deflections a mile away.
For those questioning why Garosero has been slowly dripping out info, this is why.
Shady knows shady. They knew the slimy, gross antics that KSH and GM would eventually use (like they are now through the YouTuber Lee Jin Ho) to deflect about the alleged grooming.
They were giving KSH and GM enough rope to hang themselves.
And they were also waiting for the family to have reason to go scorched earth on KSH.
Hell hath no fury like a grieving mother.
Y’all are about to see KSH and GM’s arrogance and narcissism destroy everything they’ve built.
Before the end of the week is here, we will see KSR family checkmate KSH.
Oh he declined shining 🥲🥲 I just need casting news soonnnnnn😩😩😩
Oh no! I really love CJH and his acting but think he might need to get better management. His dramas have been enjoyable but not memorable. Feels like he’s being typecast in the same kind of character roles in shows with average writing .
an industry full of greedy abusers who were dismissive of her issues and seemed to have worsened her depression,…
It’s still aligned with my original statement. It’s all related to being a part of the industry. It seems you misunderstood that I was blaming her agency or even her family (I wasn’t). Although one could say that an agency has a responsibility to maintain the safety of and protection of their talent. Also, Zhao Lusi has to walk a fine line here and from a PR standpoint can’t outright call out her agency’s negligence (but if things got to this point the negligence is obvious). In the end, even if Zhao Lusi ever minimized her own issues, others aided and abetted and exacerbated her issues because, in the end, it was in their best interests (I.e. financially). One can read between the lines.
Honestly, given that Zhao Lusi’s experience seems to be the norm vs. the exception in the industry, there seems to be a need for an overhaul in the industry. Part of that is calling out the rampant abuse, overworking of talent, and ignoring their resulting mental, physical and emotional issues as well as minimizing the need of help and proper attention.
an industry full of greedy abusers who were dismissive of her issues and seemed to have worsened her depression,…
She was previously abused by a manager and many (including netizen culture) were dismissive of her issues (or accused her of using her issues for sympathy and/or accused her of using them to try to get out of her previous contract).
I’m so glad Zhao Lusi was able to finally speak out but so sad for her that the craft that she pursued with hard work, dedication and passion led her to an industry full of greedy abusers who were dismissive of her issues and seemed to have worsened her depression, which could have eventually taken her to the point of no return.
Wishing her so much healing and recovery and that she is able to continue doing the work she loves free of mistreatment and abuse. I fell in love with her talent and acting after seeing her in TROTR and believe she is one of the best Chinese actresses of her generation along with Bai Lu, Seven Tan and Zhang Jingyi.
But nothing is worth her well-being. I hope she takes all of the time and space that she needs and that she can make healing a priority from now on. I know her true fans and day ones will be waiting for her when she is able to return.
Jiayou, Zhao Lusi!
ETA: There’s so much that she’s not saying (because it could be used against her, lead to her being blackballed) but can be understood in her statement. She’s taking on too much of the responsibility of the point to where her health deteriorated. She may not be saying it outright or is trying to protect those who helped her to rise to fame, but make no mistake: others allowed and/or played a part in her deterioration.
Omg, just wait and watch all at once in a day. Problem solved, move on.
I get that you’re a fan of the show (I am, too, and of the actors). But you really need to learn how to respect other people’s opinions (mine wasn’t even a negative one, lol) instead of getting rude and defensive. Enjoy the show (as will I any way that I like).
I want to start off by saying that I absolutely LOVE this drama not only because JCW and SHS are two of my favorite actors but also because I loved writer-nim and director-nim’s previous works. Healing drama and small-town, slice-of-life HCCC vibes (but yet VERY different from that other lovely drama)? Yes, please.
Having said that, I think where the drama is affected is that releasing two-a-week schedule disrupts the flow of the drama. As I watch each episode, I can’t help but find myself wishing I was able to see the entire story through without disruption because I suspect it’d be a more cohesive, smooth viewing experience (at least in terms of the emotional beats of the story). This makes me think of what would have happened with my other beloved small-town drama WTCB if I hadn’t had access to the entire story the way I did being able to watch it without having to wait a week in between.
One thing that hasn’t been brought up in all of the discussion of Yong-pil deciding not to date in 8 years is that, while it certainly may be (and probably is) an annoying K—drama trope, it’s also true to character based on the story and the example he saw in his dad. His father lost his mom and, while he could have re-married that was it for him. So it’s not much of a stretch that Yong-pil was cut from the same cloth. He found his soulmate and for him, that’s it. If he can’t have her (and circumstances dictate until now that he can’t) then he will make it his life’s mission to protect loved ones and if he never marries or has kids then he probably still considers it a life well-lived.
SD on the other hand, from what we know, tried to heal by having a string of failed relationships with loser guys (according to what her mom stated in earlier eps). The storytelling doesn’t show us that she was ACTUALLY trying to move on but that, unlike her successful career, in her dating and love life she was motivated by trying to forget and push aside the love she also, presumably, still had for YP. Of the two, YP is not actually the lame one.
For those on the fence about whether or not to watch the drama, I’d say this is an amazing drama that is best viewed without interruption (in other words, wait until all the episodes are released; I myself am eager to do a re-watch after all episodes have been released).
To be fair Alice Ke was around Yeo Bin's age when she act in the Taiwanese original. She ends up look like matured…
I’ve actually watched the original and love it. ;) I can tell you’re passionate about SOOD and the actors. That’s cool. We’ll have to agree to disagree on JYB. She’s an exceptional Korean actress who I’m confident has the acting skills to portray the roles in this drama and to make the roles her own.

I have heard this come up before but, ironically, JYB has played HS roles convincingly and with youthfulness in recent years and what you mentioned was not an issue. JYB was the perfect choice as she’s the Korean AK.
Rarely ???? Normally Netflix releases all episodes at once... it's not a new thing
I know what you meant. Most kdramas that are airing in Korea and are simultaneously streamed through Netflix are released on a weekly basis. I was just recently informed myself that Netflix originals tend to be released all at once.
The more I think of it, the more excited I am about this drama. Director-nim is the perfect director for this project (given how well he directed the dramas with similar tone of ATCY, “Just Between Lovers” and the older “Innocent Man.”) The only parts that make me nervous are AHS’s acting since I’m not sure he’ll be able to give the nuanced, with gravitas performance Greg Hsu was able to pull off in SOOD (on which this drama is based) and the screen writer with only one previous project in their resume. Having said that, I do hope they give us a more hopeful ending than the OG drama did and that they make it their own since it shouldn’t be a carbon copy of the excellent SOOD.
The thing about this remake is that even if it is a total disappointment, all the people who only watches kdramas…
Ah, I understand now. I can’t speak to that since that’s not what my original comment was referring to. But I can say that there are those (like me) who loved the original and are looking forward to appreciating the Korean remake on its own merit and aren’t interested in comparing or tearing down the original.

But I think that’s ok. Just because they believe it’s better doesn’t have to change what you believe. Taste and what we consider better or best is subjective. I LOVE SOOD and appreciate the labor of love it took to get the amazing drama to tv screens. But I also know I’m probably going to enjoy ATCY because I love the storyline (even if it ends up deviating it still seems to be following the general plot points and original script) and because I LOVE JYB and her acting. I’m glad we get the original masterpiece retold in a different cultural context.
So excited to see this (and I LOVE LOVE the original Taiwanese SOOD upon which this is based)! My only concern is that people who have seen the original will look at ATCY and criticize without taking into account differences in culture and the PD and writer wanting to make sure it can stand on its own without it being an exact carbon copy of the masterpiece Taiwanese version. Will watch it with an open heart and mind. Have a lot of faith that JYB will nail the role as FL. Saw and loved AHS in “Business Proposal” but not quite sure he has the acting chops required for multi-faceted ML but am hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
It’s a credit to Zhao Lusi and Chen Zhe Yuan’s acting that they really made it seem there was an actual greater age gap there. Such a lovely, charming, CDrama! ❤️

His superstar status is gone and done for.
