just finished the drama and ngl it ends perfectly for me, i had to sit with my thoughts before writing this but it makes sense how the story flows, the cause and effect, the desires of all living beings is what kept on feeding the illusion that the "spring" will grant immortality/power when all it is is just shallow water and empty space =it literally is nothing, nothing happens even when attaining it.
the ending perfectly grasps the idea of why the "kunlun mirror"/"spring" will never truly disappear because even xiaoyao still has her "unattainable desire" so it will just be a never ending cycle of that. she has gone back twice and nothing changed, so she will keep on reliving those moments just to be with hongye and its just heartbreaking
hmh and seven did a great job portraying xiaoyao and hongye and i hope they get more dramas together
i am such a sucker for this genre but boi oh boi we got KDW and JJH coming back to the screen??? sign me up!!!
Also i still cant empathize with the romantic side of it because everything is just too sudden, its a personal reference not a flaw with the story. Its the classic whirlwind of espionage chaos and the heat of the moment would bring up intense emotions. We see it so often with the classic 007 movie series.
But the rest of it, the action, the intensity and the thrill aspect of it i am so so so down for it. I need more!! Why is it only 9 episodes T_T the story is just building up and its already episode 5.
Bonus: I thought PHJ's character was going to be a faithful husband this time around but lo and behold HAHAHAHAHAHA HE'S STILL A CHEATING MOFO i swear i was laughing so hard when i saw that scene, its supposed to be an intense confrontational scene but i was just laughing HAHAHAAHAHAAH

So uh, i just finished this, at 2AM on my birthday. And i totally forgot i was watching a wuxia. I was caught off guard with all the happy shit and then VOILA last 2 minutes of the entire fuckin series breaks me apart. Honestly I'm not even mad, I knew it was coming, i knew it was coming BUT HELL DUDE I STILL CANT TAKE IT. I've watched countless wuxia's in the past and most recently was TTEOM , i still haven't learned my lesson that it was too happy T_T i felt like i was stabbed again and again
Ok so i just finished ep 40 and although not everyone will agree with me but I loved with what they did for the ending. Its still a happy ending, I cried, but its still a pretty happy ending for a xianxia. Than most of the other xianxia's i've watched.
