Arthdal is one of my favorites. I enjoyed it so much. When you start watching the first episode, it's better to watch it twice to understand the background story. It's quite complicated. It was led by veteran A-lister cast, acting performance is excellent.
I haven't watched Bulgasal yet.

If you're talking about the late King, there was no the crown prince, the successor at that time. Therefore, his younger brother become the King.

That's why Uk was born with the result of AoS.

Maybe he is waiting for Jang Kang to be back and he can't solve these things on his own.

It's after CP's birth, they (Jin Mu and Danju) only got to learn AoS and get ice stones thanks to Jang Kang (timeline after he got to soul-shift with late King) and 10-year-old Buyeon helped them find ice stones).
CP must be older than Uk and Buyeon (I suppose). Pretty sure CP is not a soul shifter's son.
