I see. One and Only may not be that sweet, but Forever and Ever (modern sequel) will be very sweet and romantic. And, Bai Lu is the iQIYI's sweet on international brand ambassador. That's why they included it.

Nope. It was more modern-focused in the novel with only few flashbacks of the past (historical). But, in the drama, they decided to make two separate dramas, historical prequel (one and only) and modern sequel (forever and ever). Both dramas are main dramas on its own with connected storylines and same lead actors.
They chose to make two separate dramas to pass c-drama censorship smoothly.
