I saw some people disliked because the 'romance' in the title does not do justice of the little romance they showed us. I'm pretty sure 'The midnight" means secret, not because they are really doing anything wrong, but just cuz the society still has some outdated values that force people do things like this. And ofc, people to explore this. If they show it in a bad portrait in dramas, means they are trying to change it. that's great.
Leads being lovey dovie, saying i love you all the time, with some clichés, with love triangles happening on the BG, ok there's some dramas like this> But this one is from a of a woman that almost gave up romance in her life, she's rediscovering herself too. The ending is not really open, just that show us that the life is not always perfect, sometimes you need to change your job or change some of your life choices, but that's not always terrible. They will just stay there for each other despite the changes that will happen in their lives. I gave it a 8.5. I'm much more in less serious dramas, but this one is not bad.

Really forced, not a single one 'normal' relationship. Do everything wrong for 38 ep's, then in the last 2 eps let's everyone say 'i love you' get married and happy ending. Ok, l always try to imagine the 'after the last episode' in some dramas. Imagine Tong Yi Wen and Xu Yan life after enter this 'Shit Mom' family. Will the leads be fine if Song Jin Ran appears again, she still around no? They totally forgot her after her photo exhibition. Lu Zheng always flirting with younger girls, and they tried to portrait Guo Sheng Yun as a jealous lunatic, when she is totally right. I just don't know. it goes really downhill around ep 30 to the end.
What made me really pissed, is at certain point i was watching 4 couples that i can't really root for.
Based on some comments here, the mom even with her reasons, will piss me off while i watching this one. I remember Something in the Rain years ago, that could be a really good drama, ruined by the FL mom and her standards. My mood now is to turn off my brain and watch a show more 'comfortable', and this one for sure is not :P

I was sure I had seen Yi fei in a show before, but when I came to check, she only did 2 dramas and I didn't see the other one. She must look a lot like some actress i know, I just don't remember who.
About the drama, that's much more friendship than romance. The story is well written and connects. 8.0 to 8.5 is a fair rating.
I like to watch some 'mini-dramas' that take support actors from dramas that i previously watched as main leads, but i take in consideration that the budget will be less than a normal drama, that's why i don't consider much the ratings, they will always be lower than normal dramas.

It's a true story about the Kwangju Uprising. Worth the watch, but it's a sad ending, i delayed watch it for more than 2 years, i usually don't pick "sad endings" dramas to watch, but i prepared myself in advance.
Bai Ming Han is a complex character, my favorite in this series. Pang Hong Mei comes after him. I feel bad for Bai Hui. she really had no choice in this one. she has much to consider. If she ignores her mission, her home country will kill her, If her identity was discovered here, she wasn't going to be spared either. They can romanticize the police, this is a drama anyway, but we all know that in this times of war, a discovered spy will probably die.

After reading some spoilers of the "original" japanese one. The rating still high. 8,6 to 8,7 since the start. I not only pick shows based on ratings, but shows that DROP the rating really low close to the end are prob messed up. If a show has a constant 7,8 example from start to the end, i can watch it with no problem, but one that drops from a 9,0 to a 8,0 on the last episode i will prob skip. 1 week after the last episode gets aired, i will just check the 'final' rating of this one to decide if i will watch it or not.
The Interest of Love (2022) Is one that i didn't watched, just because it's a 8,2 until episode 10~, from 10 to 14 it dropped to a 7,9 1 week after ep15 and 16 it goes to a 7,0. (it's 6,9 right now). I read alot of spoilers to understand, since i will never waste my time on it.

Forever and Ever is the only Allen Ren drama i did, and this one the only Liu Hao Cun i did too, so i can only talk about it. I Sometimes say i don't care much, but if i know the actor/actress has a BF/GF in "real life" i will prob assume the reason of less skinship, or lack of kiss scenes is that.
Know these dramas that the chemistry is so good that "no way they are not dating!" is the only thing in our minds. This will never happen with "not single" actors/actresses.
