Let me tell you something. According to the novel, Lian's actual character is not cold. As he was criticized a lot during his teenage years due to his Chinese accent and also his engagement with Keau was almost going to break he became like that. He thought that if he become quiet, and maintain an etiquette then he would not lose Keua. We know that Keua is hiding his personality and coincidentally Lian is also doing the same. They both try to be best for each other as they both think that they are not good enough for each other(sometimes we also do the same so that our crush like us). And as this is both of their first relationship, they both can be wrong in some way or the other. No one can be totally perfect. Just because they are the main protagonists of the drama that doesn't mean that they both need to be perfect. I know the behavior he did with Keua saying that he doesn't love Keua and he is Anabelle was totally wrong. I accept that. But Keua is also wrong as he is continuously lying to him. Actually we all think Lian is a bad person because we have not seen the story of his perspective in this drama (hope they will show it). So please don't judge a character of a story without knowing him. And also about that land thing (that is also something that Lian is doing for Keua's sake).
