Well, she’s a mortal, can’t even fight a low life bandit 🤣 then she meets the person who just annihilated…
They changed FL by a lot. It feels that she is torn between what she was taught in her sect and her own beliefs. She is a strong person but it is the first time she deals with the human world and she doesn't actually understand how it works. She knows that innocents cannot be harmed and evil must be punished (she repeats that again and again) - but it doesn't work there because everything has cause and effect and no one is innocent or evil there. She tried to see ML as the devil but failed - she persuaded herself when she tried to beat him but she could not - because that act made her feel like the devil instead. And I think she tried to see him as a victim - but she transmigrated too late and he was far from being innocent. And because of her personal beliefs she can't just stop thinking about morals.
i saw it go down, 8.8 - 8.7 - 8.6 - 8.5, lower each time T-T, idk if it's general opinion or just biased hate…
It is a great rating for the CDrama which has just started. Most people wait for it to end (or at least for more episodes) before they rate. Right now almost everyone who rates it are biased: either those who love it (most likely fans of the actors) or who dislikes it (haters of the actors or those who started watching it and didn't enjoy it - that happens to any series and those people rate early - because they drop it and move to something else). Though here on MDL ratings are always weird - because the range is very small, most non-cringe CDrama are 8.0 to 8.5 and really great ones are 8.6-9.0. That is why comments like "this deserves 9.9" are stupid - masterpieces are somewhere around 9.0 and that score can only be justified when the series is already finished.
Isn't this considered Wuxia? 🤔Edit: OKAY! I GET IT! If you actually look before responding, the very first…
Wuxia is purely about martial artists. They can use some magic (like fight using music or some weird poison things) but it is not considered true magic (just like flying scenes - you know, even in historical CDramas people may fly and no one will be surprised).
Xuanhuan is the same but with more magic. Thats where they start talking about levels (like in games, character studies magic for a bit, gets a level-up and then he is able to do more powerful magic). That is Sword Snow Stride, the Blood of Youth or Ever Night.
Xianxia is full magic with no focus on martial arts. It can be about gods (like this one) or about cultivation schools (like Untamed). It also has that thing with levels but there is much less focus on that.
I’m pretty happy to see the crucial scenes to the plot line, however, I feel TTJ is not cold enough! The book…
That is the difference between novel versions and adaptations.
In novels they make a lot of characters stone cold (or at least pretending to be like that) - and readers get their sweet angst and suffering from main character thoughts instead of actions (and there is even more angst when the girl doesn't show any emotions on her face while her totally emotionless ML does horrible things to her but she is suffering inside).
But in adaptations facial reactions are almost the only way to show character thoughts so even totally emotionless characters will still show something. Also, why would you spend so much money to hire great actors if they just need to stand there with their cute emotionless faces?
There is never such thing as 100% if it is about CDrama - even when it has already started airing. But now we already have our sweet 99% chance to watch this soon.
I don't think it will air on Thursday.🙄 We didn't even get a trailer. But then who knows?
It is fine if it airs without a trailer - CDramas often air without any promotion and here we already got a huge one. Much better no trailer at all than Ancient Love Poetry where we waited like forever after the trailer (around a year if I am not wrong).
Some time ago after I learned about this CDrama, I tried this novel (only several chapters though).
As I remember, ML (Tantai Jin) turned the world into a very cruel place so a girl from the future (Li Susu) returned to the past when it all started (transmigrated into ML's wife) in order to kill him. But for some magical reasons she couldn't kill him directly and had to remove his immortality power first.
That where we get to... a small problem...
At that time ML was a young prince who was held hostage in another country. Everyone tortured him in the most cruel ways. He was married to Ye Si Wu (that girl our MC transmigrated into). His wife has also abused him (like making him kneel on ice for weeks) and even her family thought she was going too far with all that.
So, our glorious MC became that wife. ML was pretty nice to her, even rescued her, but she knew he will turn evil at some point later. She couldn't kill him (because magic). So she decided... Can you guess, what? To torture ML more, to whip him with her favourite whip, things like that.
And while she was torturing him, I was blessed with her inner thoughts. You see, she is such a beautiful person with a strong Dao heart, she is not abusing the weak ones but punishing evil, thing like that. After that MC became a little upset because ML almost died (and that would be really bad because of that magic thing). That where I said farewell to that novel...
But comments on novelupdates state that MC will stay like that until the end of the story and there will be no trace of love between them (and ML will still grow up into the evil monster... I wonder why...)
I was here for the CLJ/LBFaD kind of aesthetic but now I'm scared reading the comments.
Don't worry. I am 99% sure that this will be LBFaD v2.0.
As I remember, LBFaD had a similar problem (not to that extent though) so they changed a lot in the novel story and also toned down ML. I think, they went too far with that and he became far too soft but that was still fine.
The thing that worries me is that after those changes in the drama version of LBFaD the story became a weak point. It was pretty simple and they didn't care much about side characters and logic. However, aestetic and romance kind of saved it because, well, who needs logic in a love story (and main couple was pretty good at kissing). Though they could at least try to explain something about that final battle...
But here in TTEoTM they probably had to build the entire plot from scratch - judging from the novel comments this... story... needs a complete rewrite to become something decent. So I am afraid that they will end up with a very generic story. Still, LYX just needs to stand there and we will feel that he is a tragic character even if he doesn't talk at all.
Why are people engaging with a troll? there are many, but none as obvious as @mikenovo. Also, @Nessie 1443, you…
Yes, that looks like a glorious Warrior of Light is on the holy war. You know, aggressive as hell, hating everyone around them and pretending to be the nice person here (surrounded by a whole website of homophobes).
They never try to be reasonable, they just blame everyone around them.
You see, normal people have the freedom to like whatever they like - and it doesn't make them whatever-phobic if they prefer fairy-tale type of romance instead of explicit one (or if they just like a certain movie without sexual scenes). Normal people may like the censored book cover or the uncensored one more - and only trolls turn it into a war against homophobic world order like the Russian girl from that troll's post.
Also, it is true that too much skinship gives the crew an easy way out. It is the reason why only a few BG dramas are actually good and we get too much stupid romance ones. You see, if Immortality was based on a BG novel (the same plot, the same relationship, just "she" instead of "he") I would expect its adaptation to be pure cringe romance.
Answer is somewhat quite simple,if rumors are true then cut that person out legally which often happened in many…
I don't think it is that bad. I mean, we hear the same voice actors everywhere (because everyone has to use the same dialect). If that rumor was true, a lot of upcoming CDrama would get the same problem. Also, replacing one voice actor should not be that hard even when all work is already complete.
https://twitter.com/cao5903/status/1636731746782965760?s=46&t=w1_gbLmT3E_SkqouqLYbYQOne of the cast said new episodes…
Would be funny if that is not connected to anything political and they just decided to choose monthly updates to reduce the hype. I would prefer 8 episodes per month without scandals and bans instead of a huge hype ending in no BL adaptations afterwards...
Hey everyone.... Waiting for a long time for Immortality, Eternal faith and winner is king🥲I got into chinese…
Well, if you are waiting for WiK, try Nirvana in Fire and Advisors Alliance. From other non-fantasy try The Longest Day in Chang’an and Luoyang, maybe The Wind Blows from Longxi (but this one may be hard to follow). Xianxia always focus on romance too much so don’t know what to advise here. In wuxia romance is not that important so any adaptation of Jin Yong or Gu Long is fine. From non-classic wuxia I liked Heroes (2022) and the recent Blood of Youth. Also, I found main couple in Who Rules The World to have a lot in common with WoH (but that may be just my opinion) and Legend of Fei is based on Priest book like WoH and WiK (found it pretty boring though - it seems they cut a lot of plot there). If you want some BL, try The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty and Winter Begonia.
Welcome!! xD ..but it's better you didn't know...now you have to wait less for the next update (which we still…
There was no schedule when they uploaded first episodes so it's not like there were some unexpected problems (and the first 8 episodes are still available in Youku app so it is not banned or something), most likely they are trying to avoid attention.
Right now there is a huge event in China (their Congress is making political decisions). It has started on March 5th and will finish on March 13th. Most likely Youku are afraid to upload episodes now because Chinese fans may get too loud with their "look what is going on right under CCP nose, ha-ha-ha, stupid censorship didn't notice this" which will definitely end badly. Not because censorship didn't notice something - of course, they know what they had approved - but because CDramas should not get such kind of attention.
If thats the case Youku will upload more episodes in a week or two after that event ends. If only Chinese fans learned not to be that enthusiastic and to keep their hype to themselves instead of making it top1 of Weibo search instantly, we would have much less problems. They managed to do that with Winter Begonia and I haven't heard of any huge scandals involving it... Such a weird coincidence...
I think Reen is talking about the recent comment here. And it was the opposite case there - they called this CDrama "censored crap" (probably because main characters didn't have sex right in the first episode) and wanted all BL CDrama to disappear because that person hates adaptations without... well... certain scenes but can't just ignore those adaptation for whatever reason. Weird that they are only against BL adaptations as BG CDramas have almost the same level of censorship (except a kiss or two to cover some plotholes), rarely even try to follow the original book's plot (while Justice in the Dark is pretty faithful to it for now) and change main couples so much that sometimes only their names remain (while all BL adaptations I watched managed to keep main couple relationship close to the book version). Also, Priest books are not focused on romance (to the point where there is often zero romance in the first half) so calling it "censored crap" based on 8 episodes out of 30 is stupid. I mean, if that person doesn't really care for original book and just wants some boys in love - there are Thai dramas (or, you know, fanfiction from AO3). It was even worse in LoN comments. "Ah, this would be much better if they followed the book and didn't cut the BL romance, this terrible censorship ruined everything" while the book was not BL... That is exactly the same level of craziness as trying to prove that main couple from WoH are just good friends and sworn brothers but of the opposite extreme. Not better and not worse.
On that MkvDrama website: "Note: subtitles are machine translate". By the way, on Youku app Spanish subs don't have that MTL warning (though I don't speak that language so can't check if that is a lie). If those subs are actually good you can try to MTL it into English - it should be much better than MTL from Chinese as those languages are close to each other. Also, you can try to MTL from Russian (there are good subs for first two episodes right now) but it will probably be worse than from Spanish.
How did this get downgraded to a 7.0? I don’t think this is justified - yes, it’s a bit slow but the cinematography…
When there are so little people who vote, the score can change really fast. It's not Netflix downvoting it as someone here jokes, just those 30 people who votes now (when only 7 episodes are out) dislike sci fi in general (or give 10 just because they liked the book). Wait until more episodes are released. When there will be 200+ votes the rating will be closer to final result. Right now it can't be considered a score at all (because, well, 30 people who didn't watch even 25% of CDrama) But if you care about ratings, go to Douban (there is no rating yet but 25k comments already...)
Guys, I think the time travel theme is no longer banned. I have seen many time travel dramas recently...and the…
Lost Track of Time story is centered around MC who returned to the past. All her desicions were based on her past life and that was shown explicitly. Though I wouldn't recommend that CDrama because it is very hard to sympathize with MC there.
I believe that's because of the terrible subtitles. It is actually worse than no subtitles at all because there is a high chance to never see a better translation.
