It's a general problem I see everywhere. It's something that doesn't have to do with certain characters but with the idea that female characters need to be a certain way for them to be liked. While male characters can be many things and still be liked and noone calls them annoying without a reason. And again, try to think why is it so bad for a character to "create problems" it's a character, a tv show, people, women, men, aren't perfect, they create problems, and they can also be badass and smart and funny and many things. Sure not all of them will be liked by everyone but they're not just one thing. It's fine to not like a female character but when it's a constant thing that people always expect female characters to be a certain way, otherwise they're called annoying (and trust me, I've seen it in like at least 10 different dramas), then it becomes a problem.

You know though that if she "didn't create problems" there wouldn't be a show right? What should she do, sit there and be a "good girl"? Then there's no show, we just watch someone be a good girl. And the problem is, you might think people don't hate her for beinga woman but when there's similar characters who are men and people love them but call her annoying then it's inherent misogyny. In anyway, people never explain their reasons like you did and as I said, people love male characters for the same reasons that they hate female characters.

My problem isn't that people say negative comments, my problem is that this is not constructive. Why is she annoying? What's annoying even? I can be annoying to you but not to someone else. I'd be fine if someone said, "I don't like said character because they are not smart, or because they talk a lot and don't help the plot move forward or because they're selfish, too selfless, rude, cold, give out bad examples, have nothing interesting going on in their lives, i don't know, so many things to say. But people usually say " she is annoying" without a reason and somehow this usually is said about the FLs, never about the MLs even though they might have similar traits.

Honestly? Mydramalist ratings often...aren't good. First of all many people voted already from the first episode and that's very unfair because how many times you can be sure about a drama only by watching an episode? Especially here, the first episode compared to the third and fourth was less good. So far it's the kind of show that gets better as it goes. And also generally people dropped it and still rated it or rated it already and that's unfair, imo you should watch at least half a drama to be able to rate it. I wish MDL would change the way their ratings work, it's annoying, but personally I've found many dramas I love to have lower ratings and some dramas that have 9+10 to not be very good.

I'm glad to see, many people kept watching and saying it gets better because as much as I already liked the two first episodes, this week's were even better and so good and if people gave up on the show are missing out. I think the first episodes were good but they were more like an introduction to the story and it's something they had to do but now it gets better and better. As someone who has tried many sageuks, this one is truly one of the best and most interesting so far and it also combines action, comedy, mystery and romance very well, unlike other dramas that tend to only focus on romance or only in action and therefore become boring or too dark.
I personally really liked the first two eps too but this third ep was AMAZING. The best so far. There was backstory and interesting facts about the plot, the characters developing and the relationship between jo yi and yi eon too, i died with all their moments!!!! him protecting her, the marriage thing, the bickering, them starting to trust (and fall for) each other!! there were a few very funny moments too...and i teared up when she was leaving and the women saying goodbye to her...truly a very good episode!
