Even though I like it so far, at times it gives me the feeling like this kdrama is a spinoff of Goblin, of Wang Yeos life before he met Kim Sin/Goblin :P
I didn't know they were main leads on another kdrama as well. Will start this for sure. Goblin had the best 2nd leads love story among other kdramas. The chemistry between Sunny amd Wang Yeo was beyond amazing and at times I was more interested and invested in their scenes and story rather than the main couple.
Even though the first 2 episodes, which were great, give me a Goblin x Korean Odyssey vibes, I would personally like it more if this was more of a dark romance and dark fantasy genre. The ending scene of episode 1 is my favorite scene so far.
I am loving this drama. Episode 12 was so good. They seem to have moved away from those unnecessary and absurd romance teases and are actually focusing on the plot and that makes me happy. The story moves even more towards the right direction in episode 12 and YTY finally discovers the photo of PYG and his mom. Whenever YTY and YMH are on screen together I feel like there's a great chemistry between them. There is still too much to cover in the 4 remaining episodes so here's to hoping they will be written well enough to have a closure for everything. Mystic Pop Up Bar deserves a thumbs up for that.
hey chingus, what do you understand by the opening sentence of Ep 12? "I cannot go back to yesterday, because…
Hmm, what I could understand from this would be that 2020 YTY is the past self of PJG's mother, but because the past, present and future are different time dimensions she sees her past self as a person from another dimension. Something similar was said in one of the latest episodes, can't recall it now, by the Alice secretary OSY. She said something similar to how dumb and nonsense it is to travel from the present to the past to meet someone, as they are not the real person one is looking for, since that person's real existence is the present (or the dimension they currently are). So even though one's past self, present self and future self at core are the same person, they can be considered as counterparts instead. Right now this is what I can think of. Still have to watch Episode 12 in full to see if they explain something out of this line.
Episode 11 was so good. We are moving on with the plot and it seems like it is going in the right direction. I hope they won't ruin this since it's slowly becoming one if my favorite series currently airing. Also the ending OST is so good.
The fact that the writer and the director is even creating those assumptions is so gross to me. They know what…
I agree. I liked the FL more when she was all curious and confident to prove the time travel card and theory, but they are slowly turning her away from that. Let's hope we get a good episode tonight.
The first two episodes of Alice were amazingly done and it made me think that it has the potential to be one of the best kdramas depending how they go with the plot. But the latest episodes have made a confusion which I hope will clear out since we are at episode 11. I know they shared a video about YTY and PJG's mother are two different people, which still isn't a reason to create a romance out of it, but I don't get this. When YTY was getting attacked and the school, YMH kicked the time traveler and told him "why is he chasing someone from the past", which I understand it this way: -Alice is in 2050 , which is the present. -PJG's mother traveled to the past in year 1992. As a conclusion I think that the year PJG is in, is the part of the past dimension and 2020 is the progression of the year 1992 in the past. On the other hand, if it were to discuss about the big issue of this drama, I really hope that they don't go down the way to create a forced, unnecessary and absurd romance between PJG and YTY. So far, each episode of this series had me bingeing it.
I agree with all of these especially with the Episode length. I think they should change the episode format to 50-55 min, which can give the plot better pacing and developing and making it easier to watch, rather than getting 1hr and 20 min full of unnecessary fillers.
