True, but could have been ancient mentality, they weren’t very progressive back then. I mean agreeable that there are better ways to teach your kid, but if you’re talking about the 1800’s or earlier, I can’t confidently say they were as progressive as we are today.

Agreed! I think her role was portrayed so well. Her acting makes you believe in her resentment. If you grew up in a traditional Asian household, this sort of passive aggressive/tough love treatment is common. Everyone just expects a mother to shower their kid with love but Chinese people don’t show affection. That’s why it’s called tough love! 😂

But which mother would not do anything out of the interest of their own blood and kin? I think doesn’t take a genius to know how much she cares for CSS.

I think most of us were expecting them to unite very quickly and easily. I didn’t think it would have been this slow 😅 there was more screen time for her family/mum drama than on them. But looks like next week’s episodes will be interesting!
