I thought L&R was really really dry in the beginning and I just couldn't get past the first 8 episodes.

Its worth it. Clear storyline, good acting, and engaging. Probably better than Eternal Love just because the plot is more complex (in a good way) and the characters are more refined. MDL rating should be 8.6+ in my opinion.

English titles always miss the mark. The clearest example I can think of Princess Agents - but the actual translation is like "The biography of Chu Qiao" (who was the FL)

The one in the mask is Bai Jue (aka who HouChi calls buoxuan), Bai Jue then leaves and falls asleep. Before he falls asleep, he creates Qingmu, think of Qingmu as Bai Jue clone with demonic energy. Qingmu does not have Bai Jue memories because the actual Bai Jue is asleep. Eventaully Qingmu recombines with Buoxuan (masked Bai Jue who was sleeping ) to create True God Bai Jue.

I like this drama, I think that its just as good as Eternal love (Three lives...beach blossoms), I think ALP should be around 8.4 -8.7 on MDL. I did not like Eterna love of dream or The Legends, as Dream just seemed like a worse Eternal love (the plot was weird in my opinion) and The Legends stagnated quickly in the middle. Once you get to ep 16 of this drama - I think the plot exceeds Eternal love just because its more dynamic.

yes I feel so tired after binge watching 10 episodes today and up to 38 without engsub. Dramas are too addicting tbh

Shanggu self sacrificed and lost her memory. When she is reborn as HouChi, she does not have her memories and only has flashbacks once in a while. She also lacks chaos and what you would call a "aura." as shanggu. Similarly, QingMu lacks his spirit root so no one can tell he is bai jue although some suspect.

The YouTube is very accurate in my opinion. Im a native speaker and I thought that the translation was very clean.

Ah yes, the ending was a surprise. The 2nd prince was honestly a genius. Have you seen Nirvana in fire? Or The legend of the condor heroes?

If you mean historical like historical - Joy of life has a strong ML who just wanders around and does stuff - also very interesting and is 9.0 on MDL, which is basically top tier

To become a god basically you just need a ton of cultivation. The reason that there hasnt been a "god" in like 60,000 years since Shanggu died is because there is not enough cultivation in the immortal and demon realm. The 3 headed dragon can become a god because literally all he has been doing is cultivating (getting powered up) and because ZiYue (aka TianQi) gave him cultivation from either himself, the purple whip, purple moon thingie). TianQi basically gave the 3 headed dragon enough power to qualify for the god trials. The other immortals cant become gods because they lack the power to do so and it would take them much longer to qualify due to the fact that the process is slowed down by the fact that there isnt really enough cultivation stuff to go around. The God (shanggu) realm grants access to accelerated cultivation, but the immortal realm lacks it.

Yes, after watching dramas - a lot of faces are similar - especially if the actors/ actress are under the same company (cough cough joy of life cast)

FL was reborn - if your reborn you dont have memories
ML was undergoing god trial or something- he is also Buoxuan from 10,000 years ago and was only going into trial 1000 yr ago, so he dosent have memories

On Recognition - Tian qi (Zi Yue I think ) suspects ML and FL are Shang gu and Bai Jue
Wu Huan - never seen HouChi (reincarnated fl)
Muguang - suspects
Dong Hua - suspects

Everyone else has never seen shang gu and bai jue after they sacrificed themselves
