I was thinking about the entire ordeal and was annoyed by ga on too but then I thought of it from his perspective? He has been forced into making decisions from the very first episode. He seems to be trying to please everyone.
Professor Min asked him to spy on yohan and he did that, he tried his best to keep soohyun safe, yohan asked him to abandon Professor Min, who is almost a father to him and he did that, he even did things that were against his principles, he got yohan's family together.

the family coming together is an integral part in yohan's character development arc? gaon is pretty much his moral compass atp he sees his brother in him. Also to a lot of viewers who find yohan's actions a bit extreme, ga on and soo hyun play someone who they can relate to.

I don't get ppl who think that the crying scene was too dramatic, The fact that the person who killed his parents was in jail was the only thing keeping Ga on grounded. On finding out that wasn't the case he had a break down and then his personality changed significantly. I thought it was dramatic and memorable and fir perfectly.

the way the writers write is what makes the character so it is essentially the same thing isn't it

episode 9 was actually insanely good I love ga on's character development

personally I didn't get the people who don't like the plot because it really made me think and question my morals. To what extent is justice still justice and who really deserves to serve it? do the ends actually truly justify the means?
As for jinyoung's acting, I binged his other dramas as this one aired and I honestly liked them and I see a sharp improvement in every drama. I think his acting here is pretty good. He portrays ga on's naivety and innocence perfectly and something about the way he speaks makes his lines sound very kind and polite.
I thought the crying scene was very well done because ga on loses the one thing that's keeping him grounded and cries like he's on the verge of insanity. I thought it was done perfectly.
