I started reading the novel when it was announced that my Queen Dilraba would be in this drama. Dropped it since I just finished An Owl Rising from the Green Soil and had withdrawals for some reason. Then picked up the novel again and finished it in 2-3 days. And I’m solved! 88 and Arthur are HSM and DX! I saw them come alive with each wonderfully written word by the author. Only saw Arthur in Ever Night but didn’t finish it. I don’t question him being casted as DX, coz he is DX! . Setting is in a war torn, war ravaged country in the mortal world. So it’s all DX. While HSM is already a powerful 400 yr.old Ghost King! Thus, how their relationship in the novel is vital to be properly shown in the adaptation. It’s the essence of the story after all! They can cut some of the battle scenes but not my HSM and DX’s scenes! Can’t wait for 2025 to watch my queen’s dramas with her properly casted male leads!
Season 2 keeps on getting better and better! Love the finale for every case. Rewatching season 1 to fill in the hours of waiting for the next episodes..I have TDS!!!! Seriously, this is a phenomenal drama, story, cast, props, fight scenes;, cultural learnings and so forth. I dare not pick one as my favorite as everything has been well thought of. Though this is a male centric drama, however our female characters are also carving their own niche, I do want more character growth for Ying Tao . Xijun is getting there, even her relationship with LLF, despite the subtleness of it. Anyway, glad that fans of this drama are really enjoying this!
Bought an annual subscription from iQIYi, just for this drama. Since I have been waiting for the 2nd season the moment they announced it. First case ending highlight was so good, and can't wait for the new episodes to drop! So far The Double and this one are on a league of their own for Chinese drama this year!

Not really. This could be the setting for the later part of the story, golden gate(?), black and white river or something, fight with ground owls, ghost owls. I’m really excited!

Xing Shen from the dog family is her ex-bf. But once Yan Tuo and Nie Jiu Luo started working and be romantically involved; and he saw that their light color(he’s blind so he distinguishes people by their aura or color)he knew that she’s never gonna get back with him. There’s a female ground owl that is being paired with YT but it’ll never work. Mind you, once they get together, he’ll be the greenest flag of a bf in Cdramaland. This is with the hope that the drama gets closely adapted. As to who the actor for NJL’s ex- we don’t know yet.
