I think he is. He has always been a good person. It was his failure to capture Mudeok's heart and the fact that Jang Uk is King's Star that led him to develop a minor inferiority complex and get under control of Jin Mu. But from the preview, I guess he will finally oppose Jin Mu and tell Jang Uk everything.

Yeah the trigger might be the jade pearls they had. The main poster literally had only their hands entangled with the pearls dangling so I am pretty sure that the pearls are gonna be the trigger.

Afaik, only Park Jin, Master Heo, Seo Yul and some other Songrim mages have seen the real Naksu (refer to s1e1)
I dont think he recognized the soul. He knew that Naksu has shifted her soul and was out there somewhere and only just saw the blue mark inside Mudeok's eyes and put two and two together from there.
