They should have done it like that: Ep 1: We see them happy and in a relationship, but Ji Woo is distancing himself…
I think that would not have made any sense as Ji Woo was never distancing himself slowly. He was 100% into the relationship and made a clean break to protect Seojoon. Also I think the way they started this season, by showing them already broken up was absolutely brilliant and hard hitting . It would have been lame storytelling to show the first episode of them in a relationship. We got the flashbacks for that and they were brilliantly inserted in between present days.
They made it look like they did. I would have preferred seeing them lying in bed with their upper bodies naked…
Wait...you didn't see Blueming yet ?? Please do !! It's definitely the best of HDS, a true love poem . Shit.....did I spoil you with my above comment ? 😶
Definitely some not so wise decisions were made in the writers'/director's table regarding this season . I mean this season is fast paced yes....but definitely too much time has already been wasted on side characters that do not bear any effect on the leads' storyline . I mean yes, I loved the sassy ex ( I should say 1st ex of Ji Woo cause Seojoon is his ex too ) and absolutely adored the little girl and her mother....but too much screentime was spent on them without considering the fact that it is a limited time story and not a full length k-drama . What was even the need to show the ladies talk at night during their sleepover scene? 😐 Specially when we haven't got any pov from Ji Woo yet and we have just 4 episodes left with about 60% of total screentime already over ?? How can they even make SeoJiwoo's relationship come back from all these satisfactorily, considering the deep hole they've thrown themselves into...as I said earlier, a happy ending does not really feel happy if it isn't earned. They've amped up the angst and pain to the point that a significant portion of the fandom ( yes fans, not haters ) are not rooting for the main couple anymore and thinking they'd be better off without each other. Do the showmakers have enough time in their hands ( 132 minutes total with beginning and ending sequences ) to turn back this scenario? We shall see but the chances are not looking very promising at this moment.

Yeah....like in Blueming ( which is by HDS as well ) they showed the two leads lying naked , cuddling closely after their deed . Really wished we could see something like that here. One reason a fan pointed was that this season was shot at the end of December last year when it was freezing cold in SK , so they couldn't have actors lying on bed shirtless . A lot of the viewers missed the fact that they slept together and frankly I can't fault them . The hints were really subtle.
Those who are saying that Seojoon has no self respect, I have to politely disagree. What he has been doing so far, trying to get a closure from Ji Woo or trying to get him back is absolutely normal and right thing to do. It isn't even about his love for Ji Woo, but for the fantastic stable happy relationship they shared for 1 year. It was the best 1 year of his life and he was extremely happy and blooming ( he was literally glowing with happiness and peace as we see in all the flashbacks) . How can he let go of that relationship, that happiness, so easily without fighting at least a bit to get it back? The age he is in, he knows that a stable committed relationship with a loved one ( and Ji Woo was/is the love of his life without a single doubt ) is an asset . In fact bigger asset than his money or career . And of course he would keep trying cause some of Ji Woo's actions directly contradicts all of his hurtful cutting words. Seojoon could see through him, he could see that Ji Woo was lying through his teeth and hiding something. Of course he'd try to get through him to know what he is hiding . And Ji Woo keeps giving him mixed signals . I mean one day he fucks/makes love to Seojoon and 2 days later he pushes him when Seojoon tries to kiss/hug him to comfort. I would be confused as hell too if I were in Seojoon's place. Yet Seojoon already made his mind 100% to let go of Ji Woo after their restaurant interaction in episode 6 . He only came back to do the variety show to help JiWoo's restaurant , nothing else. In fact he was literally going out of his way from the moment he set his feet on the village to improve the business of the restaurant and JiWoo's reputation . Of course a guy with a heart as beautiful as Seojoon's would do it for his ex.....specially when he knows how much JiWoo loves to cook and run his restaurant.
Now that it has been done he'd 100% let go of Ji Woo and leave the village for good come episode 7. That decision was already made even before he heard the conversation between Ji Woo and his ex.
But at this point I am more terrified of getting a 'happy ending' for them ! Lol, can't believe I'm saying this !!! 🤣😂😂
We can either like it or not like it.
Yes, I can clearly remember there was a shirtless kissing, cuddling and going for second round scene after their first sex.
Let's end our discussion here. 😄
