They are not even in a proper relationship yet....how can it even be decided whether it's healthy or unhealthy? They are just two 17-18 year old boys at this period of the story and it's fascinating to see how their characters ring true to so many classmates I had in highschool. Awkward, unsure of themselves yet trying to play cool...some were submissive...some were bossy...and none of them grew up into problematic people. They changed and grew up so much, which is just natural.

It's beyond clear after the second episode that Kiyoi seeks out opportunities to spend time with Hira . It's very 'on our face' actually. Also did anyone else find the way he was spraying water on himself, wetting his hair, face and BODY, quite seductive? The same is him suddenly starting to play with fireworks.
Kiyoi definitely enjoys being admired by Hira...he should ask himself why?
Also Hira needs to find himself some self-respect asap! There's excellent chance of growth there . Didn't like how he was acting as literally the servant of those boys.

Sigh . You are completely misunderstanding me . Which drama you want to recommend is 100% upto you . Did I anywhere mentioned that you should have recommendOL? No, right? I only corrected the misinformation that jp didn't make good Japanese bl dramas and only movies before 2020 as you mentioned in your comment. As for the international popularity of jp dramas, I mean outside South East Asia, they mean shit . For example CM seems to be very popular among western viewers but it didn't make much revenues due to it. It's not even in Netflix or viki .

I totally get you and there are a few things in OL that I didn't like myself. So it's fine if you don't recommend it but Ossan's Love paved the path for Japanese bl dramas to become more mainstream and reach the point where it is today. It's the drama for which we got the pornographer series and what did you eat yesterday series and now getting CM and Kieta Hatsukoi etc etc . It's not me saying this, but multiple producers and directors mentioned it in their interviews and written in articles.
So...in that regard it should be mentioned I thought, if not recommended.

Errr....didn't they made Ossan's Love drama in 2018 ?? It was massively popular (and not only in japan but in thailand, Hong Kong and other places in south east Asia) and won lots of awards including multiple best actor and supporting best actors .
