No they didn't die and they are not mentioned much but Wen Ji type character mentioned as Xiao Heng Friends, He is Ji Heng father's friend son There so many characters no mention as Zhang brother and Sister, Jiang Li marriage was fixed with brother but in drama they made with Shen Yu Rong and sister like Ji Heng but they give this part to Situ Jiuyue Originally Shen Yu Rong Wanning was just a Brainless Dog of their Main was not king Cheng but father of Zhang brother sister he killed her father and mother and there is love story of him and Queen Mother and all this happened bcoz Ji Heng mother saw Zhang Father and Queen Mother together so she want to kill Ji Heng mother She jealous of her bcoz Ji Heng mother was almost sold to brothel but Ji Heng Father save her but her lover can't save her from Emperor
I think it's good in drama bcoz all this was connected Only disappointment in drama was Shen Yu Rong did suicide in novel he get his retribution just like he tarnished and humiliated Fang Fei and truth reveal everyone curse him he was humiliated torture by officer for killing wife and his unborn Child
Disappointment in Ex Husband ending there is no humiliation for him shown just like what humiliation bear to Xue…
Novel had best ending he willl be thrown in jail and people curse him bear the humiliation of framing wife and killing her and his family also thrown into jail, and last when she met with Wanning after that she just passed by him no even look at him In drama it's really disappointed me there is no retribution for him just he did suicide like wow I want him in jail first then in Hell
