But that would make sense given that chen duling and joseph zeng won't be a couple in the present because of how their past characters is gonna be the bio/adoptive parents of Wu Shi Guang ( I don't know if this is true) .
If joseph zeng present character falls in love with chen duling present character( who looks like the woman who raised him) then THAT WILL BE VERY WEIRD. But I don't know if this is true at all.

Bc chen duling and joseph zeng past lives are Wu Shi Guang adoptive parents/bio parents ( I don't know if this is true or not) . Supposedly Wu Shi Guang ( Joseph zeng future character) will fall in love with chen duling future character which will be weird because chen duling past character supposedly raised him.
