I have made it through 8 episodes, but I swear that the writing gets worse with each one. I may just wait until…
I think ep. 9 was solid (maybe more for the acting than the story), but ep 10 was a mess. It's unfortunate, but it seems like they're ramping up the cliche sidequest drama rather than exploring the potential of the stories they already set up.

I love the way this show is done! I love all the characters and how they're written. Like, they're recognizable stock characters but they're brought so alive...

The only thing I'm not keen on is the way the FL is written. It feels a bit too contradictory to have her with these fresh-faced, naive, shocked, pre-teen reactions to everything.

While simultaneously spearheading company expansion efforts and being this indefatigable go-getter.

Maybe it's just me. Other than that, I love the show.

I really like the ML but not too keen about the village setting. All that rural aigo not my speed. Can't they…
I think that's a driving plot factor though: rural attitudes 30 years ago.

the comedy side was way better, i mean the couple is not bad but idk
I agree. They should have stuck to being a comedy. Idc about the couple.

Do you know why i cannot find my review. Is it because I quote a para from your review?I came here as i got the…
I said "Write your own reviews."

Besides the quoted section, your whole review was just mine--line by line--reworded and tuned up slightly.

Do you always just copy someone else's entire review and change a few words? Why not write your own?

I believe they said in it that they died 17 years ago.
Right, I saw that, but earlier on they fudged it. It just seems like a sloppy thing to miss.

I *could not* with Song Kang! He wasn't the worst thing about FLAW, although I didn't finish that one either... but he was completely miscast here. The dialogue kept trying *so hard*, but it just made every single one of his lines so cringe and tryhard. The screenplay is just plain bad.

I can't understand what people see in this show.

"Spoilers" (sort of), but there are some inconsistencies: "Over 20 years since her parents died" but she's 28 and and they died when she was 11?

Also, the way the dude with the knife just ambles slowly towards her, and then stands and waits for them to finish their conversation. Like, what?

There were a few more, but these really stuck out to me.

The way they killed the Head Kisang off felt like a huge waste of her character! Stunning performance by that actress, btw, very intense.

Instead of becoming a dull noble woman, I would have loved to see a flash to the future with them running a boisterous, successful business together at Giringak. Brewing alcohol, etc. It would been a great use of foreshadowing to see the FLs dreams come true, since she loved brewing alcohol and working.

Boooooooorrrring is right... and I'm a total sucker for a romcom. I know a lot of people want a predictable romcom with all the tropes, light and fuzzy, etc.--and hey, I have nothing against a well done trope--but give me a little depth and nuance to the characters and the plot.

It doesn't even have to have tragedy, or trauma. Just give the characters some personality outside "I'm too perfect and I know it" (for the man) and "I'm almost perfect, but wasn't born rich" for the woman.

The lack of imagination (or effort, really) is driving me away from this genre.

Side note, everyone is going gaga over the first kissing scene, but I found it distractingly contrived (again, how many clichés can we pack into a single scene). I think that's where I gave up.

if you like him that much please donate some food for that hungry man who hasn't eating any food since birth
Lol he's not my particular favourite, I'm just identifying a reason I think the show is popular. It's very fluffy, just not my thing.

Omg, exactly. I agree with everything. I can admit it's completely flawed, but I still enjoyed every single minute of it. I'm hoping the unresolved ending (and the many unaddressed questions) means an even better Vol 2.! There's so much to work with here.

I always feel like a movie needs to be judged based on how it fits into it's own genre niche--rather than what it doesn't try to be. Like, some shows will never be great cinematic masterpieces, but they'll 10/10 do what they set out to do. Here, I feel like it largely achieved what it set out to do... at least to a degree where if you like this type of show than it's easy enough to enjoy the movie despite the issues.

As a side note, Esom being in this sealed the deal with me watching it. Fuck, she was great. I would love to see her in more roles like this.

I agree on every point! I ended up giving it a higher rating despite that, but you're completely right. I was so hyped for a good fight scene literally right up to it... and then it just caved as soon as they actually started fighting.

There are much better romcoms out there! Honestly, this one is the most terrible brain dead garbage I've seen.

You Are My Spring is part murder mystery part romcom, and while it has slow moments--it's also really good. Mr. Sunshine is part historical/political drama and part romcom... Maybe more rom than com, but it definitely has its moments. Crash Course in Romance was better than I expected... another murder mystery romcom. It falls apart towards the end, but all in all it's a decent watch.

Which episode did the leads start dating? How annoying is the sml?
They didn't get together until the very last episode. The sml isn't too bad, thankfully there's not too much drama or sabotage there. He's actually really mature. I was grateful for that aspect.

I don't think called PMY haggard is called for (and neither is it acurate). They don't have great chemistry and the drama is not well-written, but I don't see the need to take out personal frustrations on the actresses and actors who did nothing wrong.

Park Hae Soo is so versatile. He plays so many different roles so convincingly. At first, I thought he was a dull actor but he just plays a dense guy really well in Prison Playbook. I didn't even recognize him in SG. It make me binge the rest of his filmography and wow! He's so good in Time to Hunt. I can't wait to see more of his work.

I *adored* Seo In Guk in DAYS... However, I would love to see him in a goofy role like Shopping King Louie again.

Wi Ha Joon and Kim Seon Ho just have the warmest smiles. They just make me feel good to watch them... I'm excited about WHJ because I can tell he has fantastic range and I'd love to see him in a role that gives him space to showcase his spectrum of talents.

Yoo Yeon Seok was good in HP 2 but he was SO GOOD as a 'bad guy' in Mr. Sunshine. I need more YYS as an Antihero!!!
