No, it's not only you, I'm watching episodes download from mkvdrama site and they are with this problem. I looked at the youtube episodes from the legal source and it's this way too. It's ridiculous but the drama is so entertaning so far that I could get used and ignore most of the time.
I saw people saying that some chinese netizen find Liu Yu Ning ugly specially because of his small eyes and I have to say, to me as an western person, his eyes are the cutest thing, his best feature to me 😍

I'm downloading the episodes with 1080p and it's really strange, several times it seems the scene is accelerated, I thought it was some issue when the video was ripped but at Linman's channel on youtube (wich is official) it's also this way. So strange.
No one take FL as a man here. ML knows she is woman when they first met. Likewise everyone who came to know FL…
But when they are fighting in the first episode ML state that she is a woman and she says "who said I'm a woman?". I understood that in that moment she was posing as a man.
My suspension of disbelief is never enough with this trope of a woman posing as a man because they doesn't make the slightest effort to make her less feminine. In xianxas it's acceptable because they have the excuse of using magic to hide the FL's true gender, but when it's a historical drama it's always ridiculous. 😆
Started so well but again the same problem of many other cdramas: too many episodes. When I was on episode 30 I was already tired and with almost no more interest left, this drama would be much better with 10 episodes less. It's a ok drama, but if we talk about a older woman/younger man + sports drama, I would recommend Falling Into You much more than this one.
Soooo many product placement, that is one more motive for me to like period dramas more than the modern ones. Every single character got a cold just so they could promote that goddamn 999 medicine 🙄
I'm on ep 20 and when mother and daughter finally decide to work together it's beautiful to see hahahaha They're very similar and that's why they're always in conflict. Now, A'Yao and FL are the most suitable couple, it's very cute the two of them together because they're both very young, inexperienced and childish. They don't know anything about anything, it's like really seeing a couple of teenagers on their first relationship... that's why I end up not sympathizing with the General and her so much, because although his love for her is very touching, I only see an adult trying to pursue a girl who is barely a teenager. Of course, someone will say "but in the old days women used to get married when they were 14", yes, I know, but that doesn't change the fact that I can't see ML and FL as an interesting couple.

I didn't fast foward, simply isn't clear. I am not an idiot, I watched hundred of dramas and I'm capable to follow subtitles very well. You are just assuming things about others to justify a confusing, bad written script. I just gave my opinion about the drama, it's ok if you disagree, life goes on 👍
