Bale's expressionless face makes him look scary. Like did you guys see his eyes there's nothing no emotions as if he has no soul. Kuddos to the actor playing this character! The only drama I've seen him in is hot stove league that too i wouldn't have known until i checked his previous dramas. But I'm going to remember this character for a long time because of his commendable acting.

He is the son of a traitor who was executed by the king himself. He was spared and sent somewhere far away by him. But when the king called him back logically he should not have returned infact his aide (that old man) also advised him to escape he was willing to help him with that but he refused and returned to the palace where a lot of people want him dead. Is he being smart or just consumed by his anger and hatred for the king?

Firstly she doesn't consider myeong ha her friend. Secondly he is also planning to avenge his father's death (even tho he knows his father was a traitor). Similarly fl also wants to avenge the death of her father and best friend. That's why it's beneficial for both of them to be close to their enemy (the king). So who is he to grab her hand and tell her what she should do and what not.
AlsoYou are judging him from what he did in ep 5 only but if you take in account all his actions in the past few episodes especially that scene when he asked her dad for her hand in marriage despite her repeatedly saying no to his proposal shows what his perception about women is.
It's really hard to read lee in's mind. In the past three years he has changed so much and has become more smart and wary of others. Well.. That's understandable. Myung ha on the other hand is still the same.. Still tries to control fl in the name of love and lets his emotions cloud his sense of judgement. What I'm anticipating the most is the moment when the king will find out fl's identity and who her father was. The guilt is going to crush his heart . Looking forward to it!
