Exactly! I'm amazed no one else found that mystery reveal weird and confusing 😂 like I still don't understand what happened in the past... They didn't reveal the events of the past in a chronological order (infact i feel that they even missed some scenes) so how am i suppose to process all that. But no worries anymore since I've finally dropped this drama, i held out till ep 11 just for comedy since other dramas that I'm watching are dark but i can't stand this bad editing and storytelling anymore.

They have changed the story ... In the original there's no father character he himself is the king whom fl wants to assassinate. The bad guy is someone else.

This drama is completely different from the webtoon they have changed a lot of things. Yes in the webtoon sajo hyun is the king and fl wanted to assassinate him after that sword dance show. (This why og is more interesting because later in the drama killing his father whom ml already hates won't be that conflicting for fl. In the webtoon she had to make this difficult choice of trying to kill him again to avenge her parents death but now she's in love with him. ) The webtoon had a happy ending. ML makes his brother the king and lives a normal life with fl. The villain (minister/vassal) dies. There's another couple in the story they also get their happy ending. One more thing his personalities merge with his real personality.

Tbh they didn't need to. In the webtoon too it was convenient to differentiate who is who. Trust me when i say this the original story is really really good. It had everything romance, politics, angst, manipulation, necromancy but the best part of the webtoon was the character development. And there's little to no scope for character development here since they have made the ml a nice, cute person. So yeah...
