I really wanted to watch this while it's still airing but i guess i will have to wait for this to complete. Both evilive and the deal are giving me a hard time because i don't have the proper subtitles for any of them.
I couldn't bring myself to hate any of the characters (whether its taelha or tagon)in this drama specifically in s2 because there were so many layers or you can say depth in them....though i never supported their decisions but it always felt like i was able to understand why they did what they did. All credit goes to the one who wrote their dialogues. Ofc the actors also did a commendable job in dialogue delivery (well, they are experienced, their filmography says it allπ jang dong gun always surpasses people's expectations) .
To me saya was the reflection of tagon. They didn't share the same dna but the more i looked at saya's actions and his reasons behind them the more he resembled tagon. He looked more like his descendant than arok though i can't say much about arok because his character wasn't exolored that much (well he was just kid until the last scene) . Like tagon he too wanted acknowledgement craved for people's love and attention when he was young and the lack of all this shaped his current personality. They both became possessive for something that they wanted to own for the rest of their lives, for tagon it was arthdal and for saya it was tanya. They both kept their personal needs and benefits before the needs of the common/weak people of arthdal. And that's why they lost their respective object of fascination. Tagon finally lost arthdal and tanya is dead for saya.
I liked it that Saya remained loyal to his selfish nature till the very end. That's what makes him different from eunseom and that's the reason why eunseom was the chosen one and not him. The writers did well by not reconciling the twins because that would have looked illogical. The ending makes it evident that Eunseom and Saya can't exist together at the same time in the same place. Both have their own needs and desires and different ways to solve problems. They had nothing in common other than their appearance.
Well kuddos to the team behind this drama! They plot , the characters were quite complex but they handled everything well.
