Ok so part 2 trailer confirms that they are going to follow the webtoon plot and the final plot twist as it is.
Even the main villain will be turning out to be the same as the webtoon.

And the platoon leader is definitely alive. They deliberately didn't show him in the trailer. They know how to make people curious lol. Even i would have done the same to create the hype and attract more viewers.
