the plot aside- i'm in love with the cgi π€£ after not having it enough in ep4 and a bit in ep5, we got a lot of the dancing retro macarons in ep6. the production team surely read the comments for it.
and lee chaemin'a acting- his micro expressions and stupid obnoxious laughter surely annoying me but it is also so good and becoming my favorite for each eps π
anyway, no boring episodes for me so far and am in love with this journey of our chief royal cook with all these cooking competitions despite the needed politic and history bits here and there ππ»
i'm glad that i have this drama on my list π i found lee chaemin- truly a gem in this series so far. he outshined the other sunbaes of his in this ep4.
and for the mangunrok- why do i have a feeling that this will be a sad one π i mean the book that she found in ep1, that brought her back to joseon was from the phrase that he wrote, something along the line of- you said to be by my side. but if its the truth, hopefully this time around it'll be better for them- i dont care if it'll somehow change the whole history course of our yeonhuigoon.
nothing new added with a literal copy and paste from the korean version. i just wished that this is more beautiful in a way that the fashion, the scene shots and all. not gonna lie, everyone did great in their role but i wished more.
the fl was dressed as if she's an old school japanese style actress, nothing against it but really, that hairstyle and preppy clothing, i've seen enough. and the cousin, omg, for the 1st time i hate a character and i usually just slide it away because they were playing the role. but the cousin, i think its more of her high voice, and i dont know if they had voice actors like the china's but her shrieking voice is truly something.
ml literally copy the other ml, esp the gesture, and like i said, i wished they did more, something to say that this is a hong kong drama. and aside from the actors and their language, nothing screams hong kong to me. though one thing that i like is the comic style frame, it gives fun and quirky like the characters and maybe the only thing truly different from the korean.
reading the comments and everyone was hating on the SFL, but there's me who was ick with the stepgrandmother's…
the story is just fine, very cliche but the romcom feels was very good though the writers messed it up with some character like the grandpa or her dad, who had no development. still the acting was good from all sides, myb the SFL can do better but still she's good in some scenes.
reading the comments and everyone was hating on the SFL, but there's me who was ick with the stepgrandmother's vibe simply from her lipstick color from the 1st ep π€£ gosh how petty of me but damn, that bright pink with messy lining and all
the plot picked up at ep14 and i have high hopes for the ending but then ep16 happened and i wished it stopped at 15. they said it had a very similar cinematography to the goblin, but because of the same director then i can understand it.
anyway, great acting from kim yoojung as always, never watched song kang's, but for the first drama that i watched him in, so far so good. i cried when she cried, and i smiled when he did, their team-slash-friends carried the show well too.
a good slice of life adaptation π all the characters are people that you can mainly relate to or you'll find them out there by your own. too long but worth the time
when it says slow burn, it is a slow burn π romance is there and you can feel it, but meh. love the fashion aspect of it, but i do think they did have a lot of filler scenes. and i guessed they dont want to have an open ending so by the end of this, you'll know what everyone is doing, from the leads to the supports, not that it is a complaint bcause i do like that kind of ending, except like i said, filler scenes.

it is finished but yeah the ending is a bit rushed
