In fact, the 6.1 MJTY got in Douban is his highest from his works. From the start to end of the broadcast period of MJTY, he was heavily criticized for the writing and plot execution of the drama by cnetz (aside from being the director he is also the screenwriter of MJTY).

8.6 is not too low for a cdrama here in MDL, you can argue that in your opinion that it deserves a higher rating than 8.6 but it is certainly not "too low".
