Omg, that Seung Ki jealousy played out at the end! Am I the only one thinking the story would have been better if the king accepted Seung Ki as his lover and let Hong Rim go?
This drama hit me hard when I was preparing to leave a country I lived in for 10 years. I wanted to leave, but deep inside I craved a good reason to stay. And then this drama hit me right in the spot!
People get confused about this movie because they think of it as a BL, whereas this is actually a gay movie. Those aren't same things. A BL primary audience is women, a gay movie primary audience is gay people. If you watch it with the eyes of a gay person, many events and scenes make sense. Ending was a bit meh, but who am I to judge the author? The rest was quite realistic, and I could feel what the characters were portraying.
This movie is an absolute masterpiece! The thing I liked the most, is that it manages to portrait the complexity of the situation. Unlike the Korean movie "silenced", this one does not try to push on emotions of the viewer so much. The characters and their decisions aren't just black or white, good or bad, they're much deeper.
WTF! What's wrong with you, people??? š¤·
