Yes. The moment i started reading, i started low-key hating on the producers of the show because they stripped every personality of Charlie which made him who he was and made him a "cute vase".
They stripped their relationship down to the barest minimum.

Their relationship in the novel is actually very wholesome even when they fight. Charlie wasn't shady the way the show portrayed him.
Way was much worse in the book.
Babe is an absolute darling in the book. All he want was to be loved.

If i had read the novel beforehand starting the show, i would have dropped the show cos they did Pooh dirty and he received so much hate for portraying a character he was told to portray exactly that way.

If you really think about it, although the others are assholes, they weren't as bad as Zouey. They were upfront with their character. They didn't pretend. They didn't lie. You get what you see.

I can even understand Charlie, especially now that I dived into the novel. At least, he has a "reasonable excuse", which could have actually worked, if not for Babe having his own plans after Charlie's death.

" Way" from Pitbabe didn't really hurt because i could tell right from the beginning that he wasn't a good person.
The characters that I hurt so much for when they betrayed by their friends were Earth (from Friendzone) and Mew.
Now, the so-called bestie characters who I defended initially hurts differently.

Exactly. He wanted to make sure no one will know the whereabout of Nant! Would a simple call have been so bad if actually Zouey cared about Nant? Nont wouldn't have gone down that rabbit hole of investigations if Zouey had allowed Nant speak to Nont on the phone.

That guy had the opportunity several times to tell Nont. He could have actually helped Nant too if he wanted to. We can see that he was able to talk to Nant's father. If he couldn't hld a civil conversation with Nant explaining why he didn't want to be a witness or why he doesn't want to revenge on Lee, (instead of handing Nant to Jason Lee), why didn't he pick every other option?

If you think about it, the character didn't actually make a 180. He was shady and suspicious all along, remember? But the show kept on portraying him as a good person so we gradually let our guards down.

The reason I refuse to "understand " his actions is exactly because he played detective with Nont, encouraged him to go on with the investigations every time and acted all holy with Captain and First.
There's only so much one can excuse him by claiming he was "scared and afraid of stigmatisation ". That character is what we call "a snake".
Teena better be very careful. Someone like that is scary.
I'll take a villain who doesn't pretend to be good to a friend who is a snake, a betrayer and a backstabber.

He is definitely not like Mew. Mew never harmed anyone. Even when he was hurt and his feelings ignored by those around him, Mew knew his limits.

All that lecture he gave to Nont, Captain and First, I supported him, thinking "ah, atleast we have one reasonable character "....

I can't explain how awful my saliva tastes right now due to the end of this show.
You might say I am unsympathetic but there's no justification whatsoever for Zouey's actions. I have thought about it all night.
He was raped so he feared stigmatization and shame? Valid! But then the next action is turning to his rapist to lock up his friend? Bullshit!!!

Then his friend went into hiding per his request and then he pretended not to know? Meaning he lied to every single person in that show including the viewers. When Nont returned, he acted like he had no idea where Nant was. They went to the police. He watched Nont spiral and go round in circles and never said a word.

He hinted to his friends that he was an SA victim. He kept mentioning to them that "you know what I went through. You know what I've been through", which means in a way, even if his friends did not know the whole details, it wasn't exactly a secret that Zouey was raped..
So, why, oh why will Zouey do this to Nant and Nont?
Phop should have strangled Zouey not Nant. Infact, being a rape victim isn't a justification for what Zouey did to Nant and we don't even know what Nant went through while he was locked up.

So are you telling me the fear of shame, embarrassment and stigmatisation made Zouey do all these to his friend and twin?
Who need enemies with friends like these? Why would anyone want to help their friends if they'll react like this?
A simple conversation of "NO, I do not want to be a witness and I do not want to expose Lee and do not want people to know" would have solved this.

There is no indication that Nant was pressuring Zouey. If he was, he wouldn't have listened to Zouey and followed all of his requests, faked his suicide, allowed himself to be held hostage and tried to flee all because that was what Zouey wanted. That hug from Nant to Zouey was Nant seeking for comfort in his now troubled life. He didn't even know the details of his Twin searching for him. ZOUEY HID THAT FROM HIM and didn't allow him see his Twin. It would have been his last time seeing his brother alive.
Congratulations to Zouey because he just became my most hated character.
