Haha., kind of. For people unfamiliar with season 1, I wanted just a short actual recap to explain what happened…
I came back to see if you've updated your review, and yay! You have! LOVED THE BIT where you correctly point out the unrealistic plot (THAT ACTUALLY MADE ME LAUGH HAAHAHAHA)

i'm referring to this btw: "non logical/realistic plot things/responses - is a celebrity having a fear of loud noises a huge scandal??? I don't understand this at all. Another is, what a terrible detective. It took 1 year to figure out that Ji Woo was in the town where he grew up/where his parents used to live, wouldn't that be the first place to look??? Also what was the motivation for who posted that story about Seo Joon?"

IM SO GLAD you spoke up about this, i was trying to understand how every linked together and honestly... at times what was even happening

Hello Joviall,This season is really sad, we suffered from Seo Joon's point of view and.Now we get to see Ji Woo's…
Thank you so much for your review! It means the world to me. I will be updating my review soon, so do look out for it! :)

Its abit ridiculous if you ask for a specific reason why two person fell for each other. Was that ever the case…
Well I have watched quite a few shows for me to know what to expect, and yes I definitely do take note of hand gestures, eyes, etc since I have rewatched the first season 6 times now, and it does pale in comparison compared to other BL build-ups like Where Your Eyes Linger & Color Rush. What I’m bringing to the table is whether or not it falls short of my expectations, and it is a representation of how I felt whilst watching it.

Last, ofc I would not want to put myself in mental health issues. I do understand people don’t reach out for various reasons. Even I did not before. So i totally understand how it feels. And i respect it. But in totality, that is not an excuse for his bad behaviour in the first few episodes.

Btw: I agree with your nuances statement. Every bit of it was well-written. I do apologise for my use of words, nuances is not the right term but rather it should have been ‘development of plot’.

A drama has to convince the audience that their love story is true & genuine. It should convince, not overly confuse.

If you’d seen my review, you’ll know I have an objective review. Though I do believe in order for a series to be believable, the chemistry needs to be explicit from the start — to show why out of all people, especially a top star, would fall for a chef that he met. Was it love at first sight? Was it the idea that they met each other twice in a day and hence it was fate? I definitely enjoyed S1, you can see how high of a rating I gave both S1 and S2. However, I do feel what is lacking in S2 is nuance. Many scenes did not exactly “expand” on what the story wanted to establish, which I find problematic since there are only 10 episodes. So that’s why I believe the plot doesn’t really stand out to me. Your opinion definitely has merit, and I have to agree with you at some points, but mental health is a rather fragile topic to talk about: and if HJW decides not to speak up, no one can do much to help him either. (Especially KSJ). Someone like him should seek help, and not resort to nonchalance to treat KSJ like utter shit. The community will have you know how no matter what the director writes, no one will forgive HJW for how coldly he treated KSJ. Evoking pity works fine, but using it as the entirety of the plot as to why HJW even left KSJ, is problematic by itself. Therefore, the story for me is a 7.5, it does have its complexity—but it also has avenues for improvement. Some loopholes in the plot do exist, and I have to discredit the drama for it. But that doesn’t mean I don’t find it a good drama. I am just merely stating what I believed went wrong in this drama.

your review is extremely thorough! everything that i needed to say, was said. rolling my eyes at the portions where people accused the drama of being some film students make. in fact, i think the dark lighting amplified the sentimental scenes which made me love the production even more. have to agree with your review! the acting was superb, i liked that both main leads took the initiative to trace back and put themselves in the character’s perspective. everything felt real, genuine and the plot was generally well-developed for the most of it. thank you for taking your time to be honest with your review!! absolutely hate it when people overly exaggerate things and add their personal feelings into the rating. your review was concise and relevant. great review!

Agree! I find it hard to bring myself to rewatch the other episodes again, partly because some scenes do not really address the main concerns of the plot: the love between HJW and KSJ. :)

Your review is solid! I like how you explored the depth of the story from this angle.

Have to agree with you, in S1 their relationship build up did seem rather unrealistic—like how or why did KSJ fall for HJW of all things? What exactly made HJW stand out?

And the part on how a traumatic childhood experience does not dictate the way one can behave!!! This!!! You have worded this so accurately, and I feel the same way about his nonchalant and sucky attitude.

I also don’t quite get the full impact with the 3 characters: at the very most, I get that Han Yoo Ha shows that KSJ is good with kids, and the elderly.. but i’m not exactly sure how that contributes to the main course of the plot itself. The mom and HJW’s ex girlfriend too, they are close, but the show doesn’t mention anything about why they are so important in showing how Jiwoo was like in the past and all. It appears to me that they are just there, and it makes me rather disheartened as the so called “30min” episode only contains probably less than a third of chemistry between Jiwoo and Seojoon, almost like they’re inducing suspense but terribly executed.

Appreciate your review! I do share similar feelings with some bits of it :>

Oh my goodness thank you so much for writing this in-depth analysis which matches my own thoughts. Do you happen…
hi! thank you for the nice review :) unfortunately, i ran it on shazam quite a few times and none of the songs that appeared matched the lyrics that i could make up:

but i hope my lyrics i made up will help you find it (if not, the song probably hasn’t been released yet?):

Lyrics:
Are you ready to face
All the things we regret
Are you ready to say
All the things we never said

Only a matter of time x2
Are you ready to face
All the things we regret

Are you ready to say
All the things we never said
How you like me now x3

Yeah… that’s all I can help with :”) Hope the lyrics are inaccurate as my hearing is not fantastic too haha x)
