In novel if you read from episode 62 (beat me) to 3-4 more chapters, you will notice he will be astonished to know his lower body is reacting to ye xi wu. Earlier he thought he was impotent because he can't feel anything, no later ve line. There is a incident happens in teenage when a lady of palace tries to rape him as hi is prince, something like that but he was devastated, was not able to protect himself, so he summons a snake and that snake kills that lady, this is the first time he got to know that he can kill people with help of animals and he was happy that now he can protect himself from bullies and he also realises he is impotent as he was not excited by her but he was happy as now he got to know about his new power to kill people.
So after dream sequence one day he ties ye xi wu to his bed with that water rope as she feeds him a poisonous food which could cause itching on his body ??, then while she was tied to rope and they were having some verbal argument and he just traps her inside him and realises his body reacted to her ?? he became red , during the same time a maid comes and informs ye bing chan is having fever (after death of xiao lin which happens after dream sequence) he takes ye bing chang as his concubine. Although ye bing chang misses xiao lin in some occasions but she thinks she need to survive and she needs support of a male , so she thinks Tan tia Jin is good option. So she pretends to have fever and calls him in her room , she thinks they can consummate but Tan tia Jin only sleeps beside her to take care of her all night . He thinks also why his body reacted to ye Xi wu like that. ?? And not with ye bing chang when he is close to her. Although she fails to consummate with him but she receives a rank (in concubine there are ranks) so that she can survive in palace ( she is selfish)

But this drama's dream arc is interesting. But yes many people don't like dream arc even i thought to skip it but when i watched episode 14 after skipping ep 13 i was not able to understand anything. Let people express their feelings what they feel, we are no one to judge we enjoy it so we will watch, they are also intelligent, they no the importance of dream arc so the will skip some scenes and complete it if they want to further watch this show or some may not at all watch the dream arc , they will miss somethings but may be they will eventually understand the plot after watching few episodes

So this green bish, starts to covet the Empress title and fights with Susu for it (well thinks they are fighting, as if Susu gives 2 f*cks about it xD). Being jealous of how TTJ always thinks of Susu, she starts plotting. She tips Susu where to go and tips Tantai MingHan that Susu has the key to control the Hidden Night Guards ( XL's close army of spies or something like it). She also tells TTJ something is fishy and goes with him to that place. When TTJ arrives, Susu is about to be attacked by wasps, and while defending herself, somehow YBC is wounded in the process. Su su and TTJ find out its YBC's plot - she controlled her heart protection scale to make susu's weapon pass close to her so she hurts herself.
Then, later on it is known YBC had the key to control the Night Guards, and it is evident when Susu is out and Night Guards Appear at her chamber and try to rescue her. (Way to go YBC as it won't be obvious, poor TTJ still didn't know tho).
The tower situation is all her fault. The preposition for it I mean. When Su Su finds MingHan she leaves to go there, but instead sees YBC conspiring with MingHan - He will pretend to keep her as a hostage on the tower and ask TTJ to exchange YBC for YXW, ultimately making MingHan take YXW's life when he has no way out. What happens tho, is Su Su's presence ruins YBC's plan. So MingHan takes em both hostages. When TTJ says he wants YBC to be freed, YBC is happy, she won, alas its only for a short moment. Cuz the Soul devouring flag(or whatever is that called lol) is attacked by Susu, MingHan dies. YBC in that situation thinks "As long as YXW dies, everything will be fine.I will get everything that was rightfully Tian Huan's. As long as it is this moment..." and she sends the Guards at Susu. Alas, the thunder Susu summons gets in the way. Su su grabs YBC by neck tells her how sorry of a human being she is, that she didn't deserve old Ye grandma's love, how even the dogs in the Palace have more dignity that YBC and trows her from the tower. :)
Reincarnated story of CDL's character is more on the love story between her and GongYe Ji Wu.
