Yes i also have doubts , i guess in the mom threatening part i guess FL got anxious and in anxiousness she opened the gate without thinking that if she won't cross the prohibition line the ghost will not harm her, but even if she was inside the line the ghost did trick her and came out by calling fire brigade and after opening the gate shadow left to harm her mother I will give them here the benefit of doubt
