I can understand why ADOR only gets 8.5, as they destroy the chemistry of FL & ML and existence of ML at the last quarter of the drama.

Seems that they have a different script writer and director after ep 27 lol. It is a great drama until it is not 🙁

In Rise of the Phoenix even when the novel has a happy ending, the script writer decided to give a really stupid tragic ending for the drama series. I hope she doesn't do the same mistake in this series 😔

I just realized that the script writer of this drama is Zou Yue. I hope she doesn't destroy our FL like what she has done with Rise of the Phoenix's FL 😤

a happy ending that somehow doesn't give me a happy feeling at all. we love this drama so much because it starts so strong (not only about the FL & ML, everything is so good in the first part of the drama), but if we want to be honest, the last part of the drama is so bad. so many unresolve/unclear issue, an empress who did so many dirty thing and tried to kill our main lead ending as the hero (really? wtf).

it goes downhill after episode 27. feel like a different writer and director doing the last part of the series.it has a happy ending but somehow doesn't give me a happy feeling at all. last part of the series really meh. but give it a shot, we can just do a skip anyway 😅

This is my last comment in this drama. You will see me in the next drama Love Like The Galaxy 😅 Hope it will be a good one, as I love both the main leads and from the trailer seems that it can be a really good drama.

To me A Dream of Splendor is great until around episode 27/28 then going downhill from there. Yes it has a happy ending but somehow it doesn't give any satisfaction to me. The writing has been poor after that episode 27/28. The directing been lazy imho. The editing has been even worse. I don't get the point of why they show our FL ZPE met the ML father on the last part for example. Really don't understand what all those scene for? If they cut that part, it won't effect the story at all. And so many others....

Even the last scene of SSN wedding on the boat which copying exactly the previous scene of our FL and ML where they throw flowers from the bridge just lazy directing/idea to me. A happy but really not satisfactory 2nd part/ending. OYX as the main vilain is pretty anti climax too. The lost of chemistry between the FL & ML maybe the worst one... Too bad, it can be a great series, but just another ok/good drama for me.

I feel the same too. the writer and director kinda destroy our FL and ML after ep 27. They hv become different person and lose their chemistry and sweetness even though after they back together. Suddenly they grow old so fast and look very tired 😟 the supporting roles outshines the FL & ML (except for the cute CL who is suddenly dimming too), especially Chi Yan Nei who suddenly steal the show. maybe they will make a 2nd season of the drama with him as the ML, the title: dream of terror 😬

Same here, i initially thought that it can be a cdrama classic for me (that i will rewatch so many time), but unfortunately it won't. Last 10 episodes to me shows lazy directing (on her previous series like Evernight, she delivered a great season 1 but real bad & boring season 2) and especially really poor writing. I think the rating on MDL will reflect it, a 8.2-8.3 score is suitable for the series. It starts strong but then unfortunately goes downhill after that.

I have lower my rating. To me the drama is going downhill already now. The writer hss destroyed the main characters just for the sake of bringing 'drama'. Too many unnecessary side stories, just to make it is a 40 episodes series. The last few episodes are so boring and bad. The directing gets lazy (too many repetitive things).

Thanks for your info 🙏 That's what I sense too, everything go back to square one. Don't really like it, but let's see. Just have a high hope in this drama and doesn't want it goes downhill (which will be really upsetting). and btw this Chi Yan Nei really come to my nerve lol I don't know why he is in this drama - he is really annoying - but seems that he will have a big role at the end of the drama (that i don't personally like - he did all the dirty trick but ending up become the business partner of the 3 sisters 🤪).

What I love the most from WRTW (Who Rules The World) is that in the first half of the series they tell the stories of FL & ML how they meet, how they compete each other, teasing each other, helping each other, until they fall in love (kinda similar with ADOS) and on the second half they work TOGETHER to resolve ALL the issues coming to them. WRTW started strong and ended even stronger.

I don't know why I have a feeling that this ADOS second half will not as strong as the first half, which is if it is it will be too bad (it is how you end that matters the most, not how you start). I hope ADOS not falling to a typical chinese stories where the male & female lead cannot be together as the parent of one of them kill the parent of the other (have seen this kind of theme in so many of chinese series - one of them is The Rise of Phoenix which is a very good series until they completely destroyed the strong FL at last 10 episodes). I hope the second part of ADOS not going to be a repetitive stories (FL & ML lead broke up where FL consider the ML is no different to OYX, a story about how the 3 sisters struggle to open the restaurant (a repetitive story to how they open the tea house), SYZ faces the repetitive issue with her boyfriend SRZ as what she faces before with her first bf/husband, and the other repetitive things). I hope all my fears not happening... 😔

autumn ballad, who rules the world, or evernight from the same director of this drama which is very good imo.

Rise of Phoenix can be my rank 1 chinese costume drama. Unfortunately they destroyed it with a very very bad ending. 👎

me too. all these sweetness in the middle of the series just make me so nervous. it will be real heart broken if this drama end with a sad ending. i don't see any trailer/bts of their wedding.... i really hope they finish this drama with a bang and satisfactory ending...

lol i am so happy to find so many obsessed with the drama. i thought it is only me. it drives me crazy. i have watched the seried 3 times now while waiting for the new episodes coming out (which is today 💪)!

to me he is the best Yang Guo. so glad to have him back in drama after so many years of absence (to meet his Xiao Long Nu (LYF) here who is also coming back to TV drama after 16 years). They are perfect ❤️
