The thing about medical cases is that they are subjective from country to country due to different work culture, food, drinking culture and environment. So, maybe the reason we saw these kind of cases is because they are more common in S korea? Pyo touching her lips was absurd but whatever. I don't remember them being afraid of blood as such, i think they were more afraid of a patient having excessive bleeding? And from what it seems the hospital is really short on residents because in the 2nd half of the show they were worried they may not even get 1 obgyn resident next year and as a result of less manpower 1st year resident having to assist surgery can be the case. But then again when has a medical drama ever been accurate?
