please can someone give me a recommendation (korean, chinese, US or whatever) that's similar to this bc I swear I can't find anything that satisfies me after watching this drama
But was she really manipulating "anyone". She really only targeted people who were after her. The only…
I agree with you, but the reality is that anyone who can serve her interests will be manipulated. Take, for example, her speech where she mentions her mother. It's a way for her to manipulate the viewers' emotions. That's why I say "anyone."
Otherwise, I really like the parallel you drew with the first episode; I completely missed that! Personally, making a second season would remove all the charm of the series; it would be repetitive and tedious to watch because "once again, she managed to save herself." I don't think a person will always be able to hide their true face for that long. The truth always comes out eventually, especially when allies are lacking. Her two friends were good allies because they grew up together, which made them reliable. The allies she makes now will never be stable and could compromise her at any moment. How long will that last? I think she'll live in hiding, insulted as soon as anyone recognizes her.
The end of this drama makes sense to me. I blieve in the "divine" punishment. She reached the topest point of her carrier and the downfall followed directly. She finally reached what she has always dreamed about and she tasted it and "God" took it away from her in a brutal and a humiliating way. She thought she had power, can manipulate anyone and as long as she wants. But the reality is that she will never be God and how cruel God taught it to her. The fact that at the end she still survived was the worst thing that could happen to her. She has to live in a world where a lot of people know her personality, know how bad is her soul. Who can still fall in her trap after this ? And even if she can do so, how long is the victim going to be blind to her manipulation ? As I said, I loved how "God" gave her anything she wanted (one of the best example is the scene where Seung hui cut her own face instead of the Ah jin's one), it was only to make her downfall worse. It was cruel as much as how cruel she was.
What is disappointing is the fact that we might have a second season, I don't think it will be interesting. I think they should keep it open as they did but without throwing some elements indicating that we might get another season.
why would she still keep the book around?! what a dummy! deserves to get caught and I hope she does! 😈
this is the reason we call he a sociopath and not a psychopath. She is not calculating all her moves as does a psychopath, she also acts with some impulsivity
I love how the cruelty of Ah Jin is depicted. It's not the usual antihero that we pity bc of its past. I mean, despite her past that was sad and helped us to pity her at the firsts episodes, she managed to make us HATE her with her actions reaching the limit of "what is acceptable". Is it the only drama having this kind of main lead ? Can you suggest me something like this ?
Let’s be realistic — I truly do feel sorry for her, because she’s someone who lived a difficult life and…
well, she is a sociopath and I love the fact that she acts like this. I mean a real sociopaths doesn't give a f about how you feel as long as he can take advantage of you. I hate it when they try to show us that "at the end of the day, everyone has a good inside of him" bc it's bullshit ! Some people are just cruel, especially when they are sociopathic and didn't get any help during their childhood and grew up in an unstable household!
But I know she manipulated Jun Seo, but deep down, whether she wanted to or not, she must like him, especially…
I don't think so because as a sociopath she sees in him only a way to reach whatever she needs to reach. I think it would be great if she stays till the end in her sociopath rol. I want this drama to be RAW
Sung jun and Eun Ki were nothing but the collateral damage of the whole story. Building your whole life on seeking revenge is the worst thing that you can do to yourself 😔 If they had the help that they needed they could have been saved but sadly they were kids, living in fear and torture, being betrayed by adults and left alone. Adults built their anger, stone by stone, they created the future adults that they became.
The drama was wonderful, sometimes the plot twist were kinda abusive (to the point of creating some incoherence) but it was not annoying at all. I give it a 9/10
