i enjoy this particular trope of " obsessive love" but I gotta say the execution of this show is giving me anything…
You just hit the major point. I don't have any feeling for trope of " obsessive love" and i quite enyojed utsukushii kare but in this "obsessive love" there is just no love...
All the obsession scenes made me cringe laugh and think, I mean he's cute but still this guy needs to calm down,…
Not sure, I kinda didn't like his friends reaction to his action. I understand being supportive but he is literally collecting trash because Nuea touched it ... But they don't even question it? When he doesn't know him, never spoke to him etc. but already developed an obsession?
this is funny but Toh's behavior is just umm creepy af i hope it doesn't get worse tho i know this is a romcom…
Agree, I loved the cinematography and the rules of secret crush showed some very good writing. But even if I don't mind over the top vibe, Toh character is kinda... I think people who watched Utsukushii Kare before will be the first to realize this show shortcoming. Hira / Toh have a similar storyline but when we can understand where Hira coming from, Toh actions if we cut it off from a lighthearted vibe - is like a CREEPY stalker...
he might just be a joy to work with, that kind of thing can get you around big time. because most people are assholes…
True. Another reason is that he might don't have as many hidden demands as other actors. Some actors / models are very protective of the image they want to project so they refuse (or more often) demand changes) on parts they don't like.
According to Instagram re-runs episodes will be available for international fans. Show premiere - did not have any subs - not sure if their platform even allow it.
i can't believe what Vee is doing to his own sister. There's so many people to fall in love, why must it be his…
Done what? Nothing happened yet. Also it all started as game of flirting to make Dome open up more. Rewatch episode 2 and 3. It was playful game and when it stoped being playful Vee immediately put stop to it. There was nothing that would suffest he was trying to steal his sister boyfriend.
Not sure why but Tupfah character break my immersion in the show and i don't know why... His acting - is not bad His plotline - pretty good without any red flags till now His apparecene - he look like uni. basketball plyer So why i feel that something is off?
I like the sitcom feel, but the overuse of the laugh track is almost unbearable. If you can manage to get past…
Unbearable is correct word. it like they used laugh track every time they thought something was even a little funny... I am only 10 min in on the first episode and the laugh track is killing me...
The plot, acting, the cinematography are really good. But the person who did the final edit should be fired, jumping from scene to scene confused the crap out of me so I had a problem with telling what was going on after some scenes.
I watch asian dramas for years, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai etc... I still have a problem with telling them…
Theo hair is browner than Akk, they have different chins and bone structure.. i can write several more differences. When I can look fully on their faces i don't have a problem with telling them apart. But these differences like you wrote yourself are "small details" - making it difficult even for me to tell them apart when we have a darker scene where we see them from angles that don't show enough of their faces. You can't push fault on watchers because the casting or styling crew didn't do their job properly. Look at this from border perspective, if I with years of experience of watching Asian drama have problems this means many fans newer to this scene will have an even bigger problem.
Rainbow Prince give me very strong vibe of mid 2000 Disney Chanel. Corny, overacted with logic having more holes than cheese. But because its specially done this way and doesn't treat itself too seriously it is surprisingly easy for an eye. Random songs and references to many famous Disney movies also add an interesting layer when you start to catch them. Acting is very so-so it's not bad but it's not good either. Still it's probably the first BL when I saw drag queens performance with made the whole show have an interesting vibe.
For those who mix them and can not know who is who, you are too western, mostly Americans in a bubble, try to…
I watch asian dramas for years, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai etc... I still have a problem with telling them apart on same scenes. I still can but it's something i can't do without concentrating, which really scare the crap out of me when i think of 4 other enchante that will join them.
Cienemotgrapy, story, and acting seem good so far - It was a solid first episode, that i enjoyed more than i thought I would. Just not sure about the actors chemistry with each other. They both have this i am straight dude vibe - adding to GMMTV handshake, high five etc... it can go both way.... Also it can be said that casting director like a specific type, from the trailer alone i knew i would have a problem with telling some of the actors apart because some of them could easily pass as brothers... Another thing is Theo bahevior, he grew up in France, feel more comfortable speaking French so why don't he show any typical french mannerism?
Some people feel that something is off and I agree with you. But it's not about acting but about novel adaptation problems. Novel and drama are two different mediums, in the recent episode it finally become clear to me. For example, the jumping roof scene (I will not mention cringe-worthy jumps slow motions...) -> it was all about narration which is probably copy-paste from book because when some dialogs were especially good it fell short as drama. Books need to overexplain some things because it their only way to explain the plot but dramas need to have a much broader range. To simplify it we don't want to have the plot narrated but see it unfold.
