Because the emperor is super young and it will take 10+ years for him to have his own son. So in that case his brother (if he doesn't have brother then his most close relative) would be the crown prince, in case something happen to the emperor before he has his own son.

I normally hated sad ending drama. But I went ahead watching this first as I want to watch forever and ever. And wow I didn't regret my decision at all. This drama is so beautiful........ I am still wailing writing this😭😭😭 super recommended 😭😭😭

Yes but I can understand Wen Bo dilemma. As he wants to be sure first that he wants to marry her before they start dating. In one of the ep, Wen Bo was love sick and mumbling that Xia I like you but I only date for marriage. So I think eventually its all worth. Some dramas that I feel have similar vibes are "you are my glory" and "descendant of the sun". Hope its useful!

He has always been having feelings towards Qing Xia since the beginning. But only from ep 31 he decided to pursue her. Took few punches from Lu Feng to motivate him!!

OMG this is such a lovely drama. SUCH A GEM!!!!! Such a flawless acting and great chemistry both among the main leads and side characters romance 😍 I am on episode 38 and the only thing I wish is for the main leads to have more kisses (feel that is too little here). It has very long episodes! 40! So not to be binge watched. I feel that you will enjoy this drama more when you watch it slowly. Thanks to this drama, now I have crush on Bai Jing Ting and girl crushing Sandra Ma too. Love them so much!!! Waiting for more dramas of them!!!

I found this show is boring and dumb....... many loopholes. I feel Aoran is like a playboy - there was no scene where he tried to be straight to Chuchu that he doesnt like her anymore but Aoran and Xiao'en slept together already?! I feel there is no sparks between main leads. I feel SML has more chemistry to FL than ML. I tried but dropped on episode 12. Experienced SML syndrome here - Qinfeng is 😍

One of the best drama I have ever watched. Each episode made your heart wrenching. I watched this together with my husband (who rarely cries) but he sobbed watching this. Heart warming and lots of lesson. The lessons will always stay throughout my life. 100% recommend to watch!
