Too much traffic. Might be good to send the crow now. ๐
Woah! Please try again and tell me what you got this time. I got a commentator and a big talker badge before. ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ I wonder how many badges they are giving out.

Yes, I have a friend teaching in China and she sent me pic during the lockdown. I was shocked to see that the gate to their apartment complex was literally chained and locked up so nobody can get out. There were also new reports of factory workers being locked up and forced to work.
The Coms are really being dicks over one little joke. At least the ones from a certain other country are more…
It's a really exaggerated response. Why should a whole industry be held responsible for a person's lapse? Questioning one's morality and patriotism simply by association is ridiculous. If that's their premise, when a govt.official makes a mistake, they should do a clean up, too. ๐
so instead of banning the comedian who actually made the joke (which is already a little crazy, but hey, it's…
The comedian is blacklisted and his company already terminated their contract with him. This specific article mentions about the different online sentiments regarding tolerance and freedom of expression, the need to know what line not to cross even in comedy, and honoring soldiers. The general consensus seems to be leaning towards patriotism and needing to respect soldiers for their service to the country as evidenced by this quote from it: "We can do without talk show hosts or celebrities, but we cannot do without our soldier sons of the people!โ

I think it's to check the cast and crew if they ever did anything anti govt. For ex. the 3rd ML in SOKP posted a white piece of paper last year on his Weibo. This can be construed as protesting against the govt.lockdowns. His acct was deactivated and only been activated recently. Now that this joke is a big issue, some people are pointing fingers at him, too. ๐ฎโ๐จ

Exactly. The repercussions of this joke are going to be really massive. Let's say goodbye to unreleased dramas. ๐ญ
Thank goodness Youku rushed the release of TTEOTM and I finally appreciate that they crammed everything in 1 season. Otherwise, we might not have been able to see the other half of it.
It is rumored that: A. All upcoming dramas which already got broadcasting license may have to go through another review B. In addition to the ban, fine, and public apology, artists from the same company with the comedian will be blacklisted, some variety shows with the participation of them will have to be edited and remove all their scenes.
Will anyone create a new topic for novel vs drama kind of comparison?Does the drama adaptation stay true to the…
I want to do a comparative analysis of the drama and novel but I have too much on my plate now. ๐ It would be great if someone makes a discussion thread for that. For the drama adaptation, there is a shift in focus from the POV of LSS to TTJ. The novel is darker but more expansive (there are side stories not included in the drama) and it is more consistent when it comes to characterizations. The drama made sure to interconnect the characters more (i.e. making Ming Ye's actions more pivotal than in novel) and reduced some magical references/artifacts. It's hard to summarize coz there are too many differences but the drama basically follows the novel's main plot. Since I love both, I just look at them as complementary. ๐
P.S. There are currently very nice ramblings/reflections in the discussion threads. Watch out for spoilers! ๐

A white piece of paper. There are screenshots circulating online and interpretations of it.
I saw a post in Twitter that BFTB made an official announcement that it will continue airing. Hope it does. ๐ค

Anyways, here's the tea regarding the origin of the clean up of C-ent. A comedian made a joke about the PLA. He has been blacklisted and his contract terminated. Read the full story here for the various online perspectives about this issue:
