It's the scriptwriters problem because they literally had a source novel already with the rational conflicts in place but decided to go cliche in the 2nd half of the drama. That porridge poisoning never happened in the novel which really undermined YXW/LSS and created a ridiculous conflict. To what purpose was it added, to make a full circle of Bitchang killing herself with porridge in jail compared to how she was serving porridge to the underprivileged in her early scene? LOL!
I do approve of the changes they made with drama TTJ. It made him a richer character. What is lacking is the reinforcement of LSS' POV to show her motivations and qualms. Since the writers were hell bent on changing the story, I would have loved it if they did show LSS showing more remorse and faith in him later on. But alas, that is not to be.
I have written that this drama has editing flaws. The 40 episode limit really affected the quality. While I personally love it, I do see its flaws so I do not consider it a masterpiece and that is still perfectly fine with me.
At the end of day, we like what we like, we dislike what we dislike. You do you and I'll do me. βοΈ

The actors themselves pointed out the title when asked about the BE. Of course, I want to see the HE. I posted the HE chapters in the discussion here and they gave me (and others) so much joy. But the fact is the drama is over and we have no say on its ending. The drama team decided to do a BE for the drama because that is the main story and not include the HE from the novel. From the interviews, it seems they felt it was the right direction to go whether the audience likes it or not.
As for the drama TTJ , he was made more ideal and sympathetic (almost puppy dog like in his love for YXW/LSS ) and the writers fell into the "dumb down" FL route. This is not in line with the initial characterization of LSS. Blame them.
What is the last scene? Ttj seems he becomes like god? Or he could be reincarnated? I HEARD the ending of the…
In the last scene, it shows that the essence of TTJ was left in the Heart Guarding Scale as we can see him in that "space". Typically in xianxias, a little bit of essence left can grow and make the character exist again so this gives hope. There are many interpretations though.
The novel ending is a little different but somewhat similar. It has a BE for the main story and 5 HE chapters after that. You can read them in the discussions if you want aside from drama ending discussion post . π
Everyone has the right to hold their own opinion... and this is just my opinion. Personally, I prefer not to compare…
Agreed. Gender bias is real. Why is the FL making the salvation of everything a priority not considered heroic and praiseworthy? If she doesn't go through with the mission, she will be lambasted as well. What to do, what to do? πππ
Etto...It seems like this drama is too complicated for some people.I will not blame them. If they were looking…
Agreed. Some people cannot seem to comprehend the concepts within this drama. This has never been labeled as a romcom (nothing against romcoms) so I don't know what people expected. I personally liked how they featured an antihero and a heroine who knows how to stick to her guns or nine slaying nails in this case. π
First, this drama was adapted from a DARK ROMANCE novel literally entitled, "Black Moonlight Guaranteed Bad Ending Script". If that does not clue you in, let me spell it out for you. It means the main story is going to have a bad ending.
Second, on the toxicity of the ML and FL, the drama does not even compare to how cruel these characters are to each other in the novel. I do not defend toxic relationships in real life but this fictional premise is set up for the characters to hate and love in equal measures. Li Susu, who saw the annihilation of the sects and the destruction caused by Devil God, was sent back to kill evil fetus Tantai Jin. While drama Tantai Jin is more sympathetic, it doesn't remove the fact that his existence means eventual destruction. Li Susu is ruthless because their love, hate, and personal desires are secondary compared to the saving of the Three Realms.
Xianxias are influenced by the philosophies of Taoism and Buddhism thus showing concepts like Yin and Yang, severing worldly desires to attain immortality, and living in harmony with the universe.
Third, I personally thought the editing of the first quarter of the drama was on point but suffered from occasional editing issues after that due to the regulation change. However, the story was mostly intact and comprehensible.
Fourth, the acting of most of the cast is unassailable. The CGI, make-up, costumes, OST, etc. are incidentals.
Lastly, many of us here watched TTEOTM and know that it has its highs and lows. We love it because, even with its flaws, it resonates with us.
We all have the right to express our opinions but seeing a regurgitation of negative rhetoric is just disturbing. On the other hand, a healthy discussion is always welcome. Peace and love!βοΈ π
P.S. For those who are traumatised by the drama ending, the HE chapters from the novel are in the discussion. π
LSS: Let's go home together. πππ
