Your review is spot on and a very detailed one too. Couldn't agree more with the flaws you had pointed out in this drama but in the end Jang Hyuk's portrayal of Park Gyewon and the cinematography made up for the messy writing.
Just started this hoping it will be a enjoyable watch also i'm a fan of both the leads. The thing about modern C dramas is that they tend to drag in the middle episodes. Have you finished this drama?
Thanks for the article! This is the only Taiwanese drama that I have watched so far. An interesting blend of mythology, romance and environmental issues. Liked it very much especially the mini stories at the beginning of each episode except for the ending coz Im a sucker for happy endings but the ending was in line with the story so no qualms here.

Im glad I started this one after reading comments everywhere about the amazing chemistry between the leads and ended up binging all 18 eps at one go. This was my first drama of Tao but I've watched quite a few of Lareina's dramas and she's one of those female leads who can be cute without being annoying or irritating. Currently on episode 22 and your article here just mirrors my thoughts so far about this show. I haven't read the novel though dunno if it will be a HE. Looking forward to how the plot will unfold and what the writers have in store for us in the coming episodes.
I'm totally speechless when comes to the SML character! Whoah his character has to be the most spineless, pathetic, shameless person in k dramaland in recent times. He and his perfectly matched wife make my blood boil when they appear on screen.
Gosh the sheer audacity of the SML to interfere with the FL's life after cheating on her is unbelievable. Good for the FL she found someone better but I still can't digest the fact they dated for 10 long years and yet she didn't realise his true character.
This one has a promising start. I'm hooked. More of Vincenzo vibes here which I thoroughly enjoyed watching. Looking forward to the way the plot will unfold now that the ML has found out that FL was the girl in the red wig.
A super light and funny romance drama. A no brainer to destress in these tough times. So far so good. Episode 1 was ok but episode 2 was a laugh riot. The chemistry between the leads is good and the ML is very handsome in modern attire better than in Lovers of the red sky.
Just finished watching episode 18 raw. Couldn't wait for subs though don't know when that's gonna happen. Thankfully it was a HE. Right from episode 1 the real villain in this series seems to be 'booze' where the ML, FL, SML(s) or SFL gets drunk and creates chaos and then the following episodes focus on clearing the mess then repeat the same plot all over again. They could have ended it in 12 episodes at the most but then it was dragged on unnecessarily to 18 episodes.
The only saving grace for this drama was the sizzling chemistry between the leads. I wish both their characters were written better and of course the child actor was very cute. Would love to see the leads together in another better drama in the future.
These subtitles are driving me crazy!!!! Can hardly understand what is going on between the emperor and crown prince. They seem to disagree on many things atleast that is what it looks like from my understanding of the horrendous subs. Can someone please kindly clarify what is happening. My head literally hurts trying to decipher their conversation
